I was super impressed to find a basic hot lunch here for under $20 including tip. Got the mini soup and mini flatbread combo. This week’s soup was brisket kimchi stew, which was frankly astoundingly, eye-wateringly salty but otherwise tasty as hell. The herbs and cheese flatbread was hands down great.
They’ve made a lot of design decisions and they don’t all go together, but at least someone on this godforsaken planet actually made choices about decor. I’m down with it.

Loved the location and ambience of the building. Watching the pizzas go into the wood burning often and talk to the chef was nice. Ordered a fun pizza with bacon, apple and honey. Took home homemade soup for dinner as well

I was pleasantly surprised that this spot is vegan friendly! My fiance and I split the create-your-own flatbread with dairy-free cheese, sauce, peppers, and sundried tomatoes. I also ordered caramelized onions on it, but didn’t see or taste them. Still, the flatbread was delicious with light, crispy crust.
For beverages, I got a maple lemonade. It was tasty, but didn’t really taste different than regular lemonade. My fiance got a root beer that he enjoyed.
You order at the counter and then they bring the food out to you. Overall, a really solid lunch experience! I also loved the food-themed artwork all around the restaurant, including outside and even in the bathrooms.

We got take out. Really interesting pizza options, very thin, chewy gluten-y crust, but in a good way. The apple cheddar bacon pizza is excellent! The service was super friendly and ahead of schedule. The place was jammin when we went in to pick up, so it looks like a lively fun place to go.

Best pizza I have ever eaten and I’m fussy! We had a reservation for 4 on possibly heir busiest weekend of the year – Parents’ Weekend at Middlebury College, still busy foliage season, town bustling like I’ve never seen it before. We begged for 3 extras to join us – they were swamped, and yet they were so pleasant and so trying to accommodate us; magically a table for 7 cancelled just after we were were politely turned down on our request, and we were all able to sit. Our waiter was amazing! Totally calm and speedy in smiles and service and graciousness! We ordered the sausage, a peppery pizze and the incredibly amazing maple which sounded weird, but OMG so great! Crust amazing. Love that all toppings are organic. It was just remarkable to be treated so wonderfully, and served so attentively even in the midst of a crush of diners. I can’t praise them highly enough!

We had lunch while in town, i ordered a small pepperoni and peppers, wife had personal pizza/soup combo. Food was very good, though my wife’s soup was not hot. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Portions were generous, we got two meals out of a $43 lunch, including one drink and a tip.

American Flatbread located in Middlebury was a great find during our road trip through Vermont. We arrived in the evening and the building didn’t look like much until we went inside. There is a hostess table in the front and a large dining area to your right with a stone fireplace where you can see them cooking pizzas. In the left is a bar area and some extra seats. This is a very unique restaurant that serves delicious brick oven pizzas. They state they use local sourced ingredients in their food which was evident by the taste of the pizza. There is a lot of interesting art located outside and inside the restaurant providing an eclectic and welcoming vibe. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was very attentive and welcoming. We ordered three pizzas, two small and one large. The large pizza was split with the New Vermont Sausage and Pepperoni & Pepper varieties. All the pizzas were great, but I liked the New Vermont Sausage the best. The bar offers a great selection of liquor, beer, and cider. The bar tenders were busy making classic cocktails. With the menu there was a letter written from what appeared to be the owner that shared an interesting story that is dedicated to the week’s menu. I found it to be interesting and it shows that they put that extra effort into making the dining experience more enjoyable. I highly recommend stopping into the American Flatbread restaurant for delicious food, good times, and an interesting experience.

What a pleasant surprise. Decided to dine outside under the pavilion. Drink was amazing in flavor. Flatbread crisp and toppings were great right down to the fresh herbs. Quick to be seated and staff extremely friendly. Highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

One of the best pizzas I’ve had. The restaurant is really cozy and the staff is so friendly. Highly recommend this place. They have wood fire pizza and really different flavour profiles. I loved the fact they had organic vegetables as the toppings.

One of our favorite restaurants in Vermont! Delicious pizza, fresh salads, and great drink selection. New Vermont Sausage pizza was the fan favorite but Revolution is always a great choice. Had to try the Heady Topper IPA and was not disappointed. Felt very safe with social distance outdoor dining. Highly recommend American Flatbread you cant go wrong!
