Don’t be fooled by the name. Outside of the inflated prices, the American Dreams Italian Steakhouse is neither a steakhouse or an Italian restaurant. A better description would be an upscale(ish) dive bar with a couple steaks and Italian dishes on the menu.
The food actually isn’t bad for the most part. It’s certainly not going to knock anyone’s socks off, but it’s decent. The portion sizes, on the other hand, are laughable. For the price of the entrees, I expected much more than an appetizer-sized portion. The quality of the food and the portion you get is just nowhere close in relation to the price you pay.
I had the loaded brisket skillet and was slightly underwhelmed. The brisket tasted more like a leftover pot roast that been reheated in a microwave. Again, it would have made a good appetizer for the table but definitely not what I expected for an entree at a so-called steakhouse.
My wife and kids had burgers and they seemed good. A little more done than they had asked for, but good nonetheless. The macaroni and cheese my kids got with their burger was awful, though. Very little flavor and just not appetizing. Fortunately, however, it was probably the most appropriately priced item on the menu at $2.
My brother’s meal stood out the most. He got the chicken tortellini and paid nearly $20 for a very small, child-sized portion. He did say it was good, but he also had to go to Burger King for a cheeseburger when he left.
The service was the most redeeming quality of the restaurant. It was outstanding from start to finish. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile, sat immediately, and attended to appropriately. The food came out quickly and just as we had ordered it. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly.
In the end, there are much better options in the area and I can’t imagine any reason why I would go back.

Went here about a week ago. Food was pretty tasty. I had the stuffed mushrooms they had as a special to start, my entree was the chicken tortellini alfredo, and I decided to have their raspberry white chocolate gelato for dessert. Overall a very decent experience. Food wasn’t ’blow me away’ level, but it’s definitely the best Italian I’ve had in Branch county! I’ll definitely be back to try more menu items

First time visiting, and it was great. Waitstaff was very friendly and gave great service. Ordered food, and it didn’t take long to get. Was not busy, and I sat outside. The atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable.

Beyond delicious!! The mashed potatoes are to die for! My steak was PERFECT! The hostess (Marilyn) was so kind, and helpful, not to mention the most adorable little lady ever!
10/10 I recommend!!!!!

The only issue we had all night was it took a while to get our initial drinks and order taken. Other than that food was excellent and the people were nice. The bartender was super sweet and the hostess Marilyn was just a joy to be around. The live band was pretty cool too. My husband and I really enjoyed this place.

Mashed potatoes were made from a rotten potato very bad and made me slight ill The replacement fries were good. Server was very good. Stuffed mushrooms were good.
My wife’s food was cold twice. My steak wasn’t too bad but wasn’t amazing and was ~ 25 dollars. Green Beans were not as good as what I can make myself not bad but nothing to come back for.

Our server Emily was amazing, our food, not so much. For the price of the meal, the quality of the food, and taste, I would not do it again. The hostess was very unwelcoming also.
While my husband and I were there, we saw two other couples get seated but not checked on again, which lead to them walking out.

Knowing it was the grand opening figured there might be one or two small issues. What it was was a overall bad experience. We had a reservation showing up a few minutes before hand the place was only less then half full still took 10 minutes to get our table. The waitress was good.
She took our drink and appetizer order wverythwas fine until. We got our appetizers first then 5 or 10 minutes later we got our drinks. Having worked in a bar it shouldn’t take that long for a draft beer and a glass of wine. When we got our entrees my wife’s steak supposed to be medium came out burnt outside raw in the middle. Her second was the exact same. Mine was cooked properly but it tasted like a dirty grill. Overall not a good expert at all ee will not be going back.

My husband and I made reservations for their opening night there seemed to be confusion on where to seat us. We ordered appetizers that were no better then baked and microwaved food. We ordered drinks that took forever to get. We both ordered steak that was not prepared correctly. Mine was burned on the outside and cold and bloody on the inside. I sent mine back. It was remade after another twenty minutes while my husband’s food sat and was cold waiting on my plate. They bring the steak back in the same Condition I sent it back. I again said this was not what I ordered and was asked if I wanted to order something else. At this point I was over it. I told them I would not be ordering anything else. My husband eat his and we left. We will not be returning to this location in the future. I would not recommend going here for good food.
