A brunch spot with a view of the city! ️

This restaurant requires a little trip outside the island, but the views are worth it.

Atmosphere: The space has a clean, modern vibe with a decent sized dining area.
Service: The hostess was able to set up a table for us without having had a reservation in advance. Our waitress took our order quickly and would check on us to ensure we had our glasses filled with water! The wait time for our food wasn’t long considering how busy they were when we went.
Menu items: We got the Brass Cheese-Steak, Steak & Eggs, and Yogurt Parfait. If you like to have a lighter breakfast and get some protein in, the parfait is the way to go (made with vanilla Greek yogurt). I am picky when it comes to steak and enjoyed the flavor and tenderness of the NY strip with chimichurri!

The restaurant is located near the water. After we ate, we walked across the street and got to see stunning views of the city skyline.

This restaurant is in an amazing location, right in front of a huge park with a river and a stunning view of Manhattan. After a short walk in the park, we decided to stop by, and walk-ins seemed fine.
The restaurant itself has a great vibe, and we especially enjoyed sitting outside at the café area. It was the perfect spot to relax with a coffee on a hot day, while still enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Many years ago there was a place called
RIVERVIEW there and the food was great, so I wanted to check out what’s in its place. To start with, the atmosphere was great inside, the decor is sophisticated, lots of pillars throughout an open room create a vibe that you’re dining in privacy to some extent, as you’re not having to stare at another table too close to you.

We chose to sit outside, as the weather and views were stunning. This place is it if you want great waterfront views and decent American fushion food. They said it’s an American menu, but they also had ceviche and some various ethnic touch I suppose they’re not acknowledging, the ceviche was Mexican style and it was truly great with a bed of thin sliced radish and cucumber, topped with shrimp ceviche, onion and a spicy pablano sauce I believe, it was very very good. Had some oysters, the Massachusetts ones were fresher and cleaner and were delicious, more than the Canadian ones, . The fried calamari was delicious too. The mocktails were fantastic.

I recommend this place, the food is good enough and the views were amazing. The waiters were almost too attentive, they should coordinate a bit more, several of them came up to us in a row to check on us and ask if our order was taken. Seemed a bit like they didn’t communicate with each other, but can definitely see they were eager to make sure the service was great.

American Brass in NYC is officially my new favorite restaurant! We came on a Friday night with a group and had such a memorable evening. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, 10/10, you really can’t go wrong with anything you pick! On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the view makes the night feel truly magical. It’s perfect for any occasion, and we can’t wait to come back!

American Brass in New York exceeded all expectations. I ordered the steak and fries, pasta with mushrooms, and a Caesar salad. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared while the fries were crisp, golden, and delicious. The pasta was rich and earthy with mushrooms that added incredible depth, and the Caesar salad was fresh and perfectly balanced. The service was attentive and welcoming, and the ambiance struck the perfect balance between elegant and comfortable. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in New York. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”

This is now by far my favorite restaurant in NY. If I could rate it any higher I would. It’s perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. The waitstaff was very attentive, polite and friendly. The food was so good and flavorful 10/10 from appetizers to dessert. But the cherry on top for this place is the view. It really is a hidden gem and a must when visiting New York.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – A Standout Dining Experience at American Brass

American Brass in Long Island absolutely exceeded my expectations from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between upscale and welcoming—modern, warm, and thoughtfully designed without ever feeling pretentious.

The food? Incredible. Every dish is plated like a piece of art and tastes even better than it looks. I ordered the grilled octopus, and it was easily one of the best executions I’ve had anywhere. Perfectly tender with a beautiful char, paired with vibrant, flavorful components that complemented the seafood without overpowering it. The sweet potato purée and roasted vegetables underneath tied everything together in a way that showed real intention from the kitchen. You can tell the chefs here care about technique, balance, and presentation.

Service was just as impressive—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The staff made excellent recommendations and checked in just the right amount without disrupting the meal.

Between the ambiance, the elevated cooking, and the polished service, American Brass stands out as one of the top dining experiences in the area. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want an outstanding night out, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Mother’s Day Brunch Disaster – Never Again

I don’t enjoy writing a negative review for restaurants but this is a must. I hope management will make changes for future Mother’s Day brunch. The experience for today’s brunch was beyond unacceptable.

We came for the $49 per person prix fixe Mother’s Day brunch, expecting a special experience. What we got was honestly insulting.

For a party of three, we were given two tiny croissants, one mini muffin, and a small biscuit—yes, that’s to share. We also received two small salads total. That was the entirety of the “starter” course. We felt robbed from the beginning.

The service is great. The waiter was polite and simply doing his job.

The main course didn’t redeem anything. The omelette came with no toast or bread. When we politely asked for bread, the waiter refused, saying “everything is pre-made.” Really? A restaurant kitchen can’t manage to serve bread? My mother had to eat her omelette dry while I gave her the bun from my sandwich—an underwhelming chicken sandwich served on what tasted like a store-bought hamburger bun. It was frankly laughable.

What makes it more disappointing is that we had previously attended a wedding here that was beautifully done, I had hoped to treat my mother to something special. Instead, I left embarrassed.

We spent over $200 for three people—20% tip automatically added, of course—and ended up going out afterward for a second brunch just to feel like we had actually eaten.

It’s such a shame. I had even considered hosting a large dinner party here someday. After this experience? Never again. There were quite a few empty tables for the 11:30 seating and there will be one less next year. We will not return next year and will advise our friends and family to avoid this place at all costs. Save your embarrassment and do not take your mother here for Mother’s Day!

American Brass used to be a favorite, but it feels like it’s lost some of its spark. The dining room is often quiet, the bar lacks energy, and the bar stools are in pretty rough shape (see photos)—ripped and peeling for quite a while. Fixing those would really improve the experience.

On the plus side, the hamburger is excellent. The rest of the menu could use a light refresh. We live nearby and keep giving it another try, hoping to see updates. With a bit of investment and attention, it could be a standout again.
