I live close by and have had the burgers at The Win-Dow many times, but this was my first time dining at their steakhouse. They also have a new location at The Grove. This Venice location being the original. I can honestly say it was a great meal and I especially liked the outdoor atmosphere and everyone around us seemed to have a really good time as well. It’s pretty lively, but not overly loud because the tables are spread far apart thankfully. It’s outdoors, but it’s also partially covered and it was not breezy so it was not very cold. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out pretty fast. Parking in this area can be a bit difficult, the best thing will be a street spot in front or the other best option will be to find a space in the neighborhood behind the restaurant, which is what we did.

We started the meal with the Grilled Prawns and they were fantastic. I would say they were one of my favorite parts. They were seasoned well and grilled perfectly and were just a big hit at the table. Next came the Frisee Caesar Salad and that too was great. It had a lot of flavor and was pleasantly crunchy. Next up was the Wood Grilled Flatbread and we thought that was fantastic. Definitely don’t miss it. The labneh honey combo was addicting, it was a real treat. Finally we tried the Tuna Tartare which was very light and packed with flavor. Finally we had the Steakhouse Burger which was one of the best burgers we’ve had in a long time. It was basically a French onion burger, and the flavor combination just really hit. It was a really fantastic meal and I would highly suggest AB for a date or dinner with friends or family.

I’ve eaten at American Beauty many times, and this is the first time I’m finally reviewing it. I usually order the burger, which consistently delivers, though I’ve had the strip steak a few times as well… and it always hits hard. One tip: ask for your fries to come out piping hot. If you don’t, they tend to arrive lukewarm.

The team here genuinely tries to make the experience perfect every time. Somehow, something almost always goes slightly off, but oddly enough, it sometimes works in your favor. Be graceful with your servers; everyone here is clearly doing their best.

The staff is among the friendliest and kindest around. I’m especially grateful they’ve kept the orgasmic carrots on the menu as a permanent item rather than a seasonal one. Honestly, they’re reason enough to come back.

Be aware of the “happy and healthy” surcharge (which is optional). I’m fully supportive of taking care of back-of-house and staff, but when you’ve already spent $114 on a couple of burgers and sides, that 3% should really be built into the restaurant’s pricing by ownership, not added at the customer level.

The only reason atmosphere gets a 4 instead of a 5 is the white gravel. While it adds undeniable beauty and elegance to the space, it always ends up all over my shoes and later, my carpets. Still, that just serves as a reminder to come back sooner rather than later… if only for those carrots alone.

So wonderful we had to do it again.
We were walking up Rose Avenue toward the CVS when we came upon American beauty. Walked in loved the atmosphere and had dinner. Ordered the burger and it was a religious experience. Our server, Ben, was absolutely wonderful and even gave us some local music recommendations. Two days later, we were looking for dinner again and after some false starts, realized what we had to do. Got there a little after opening and found a great spot at the bar and had another incredible experience at this wonderful establishment. Absolutely cannot recommend it highly enough. The food is amazing. The staff is friendly and lovely. If we lived anywhere nearby we would be regulars for sure!

Stellar service (super attentive and friendly)
Lively and cozy environment
Had a nice family outing here

I wasn’t terribly impressed with the steak, special steak sauce, or hamburger which lacked depth/butter/salt also fries were too salty
– would recommend the crispy shrimp or lamb chops instead

But the drink, appetizers, sides, desserts were incredible! Recommend the flatbread, pate, broccolini, chocolate cake, and margarita !

Great atmosphere, great food, and excellent service, the dry aged ribeye was tender and cooked to perfection. I’m not usually a steak sauce person but don’t pass up their in house fermented steak sauce with horseradish it was delicious.

We were in the Grove and chanced upon this place. We ordered the Flannery 30-day dry aged prime porterhouse (pricey!), grilled delta asparagus as a side, and wood-grilled flatbread to get us started. The flatbread was a pleasant dish and the asparagus was sweet and soft despite their size! The steak was pretty good too but I’d still go with Peter Luger’s steaks if based on just the meat. Ambience was lovely and the service was very good as well. Bottom line, even if you weren’t ordering the steak, it’s still a nice place to dine in – whether on a date, with family or friends.

I really dig this place! Met the manager Max, offered him some ribs which were amazing! Seriously the ribs were the best part of the meal! Started with some grilled prawn, the ribeye which I’ve had before is usually pretty darn good this time it wasn’t as good but still a great choice. Our waitress Liz was fun knowledgeable about the food and gave us great suggestions. The atmosphere is fun we said on the outdoor patio. Parking can be a little challenging there but we’re able to find decent street parking. And if you can’t go to American beauty you definitely have to try the windows cheeseburgers and grain bowl!
I’ll be back here many times!

An all around incredible experience! Loved every dish, loved the super personable hospitality, loved the cool, fun vibes. The steak was cooked perfectly, that butter is insanely tasty. The stuffed hash browns are as delicious as they sound, don’t miss them. Such a lovely ambiance sitting outside under the hanging lights, surrounded by plants and open fire pits. A stellar restaurant!

Steak Grill Place! Mostly Outdoor seating place, pet friendly. Gonna have to give 4/5 Star Rating, they initially undercooked my steak and gave me a dull steak knife… they corrected it when I sent it back to the kitchen. Macaroni & Cheese and Giant Hash Brown Side was good. It’s a shame, they undercooked my steak everything else was good. Food here is slightly saltier than other restaurants in the area, but hey it’s Steak! Simple Food, Simple Menu.

We love the Win-Dow so we were exited to try American Beauty and couldn’t have been more disappointed. The food was a 2 at best and the service was pretty bad too. Our steak was ordered at medium and arrived very rare, the sides were mediocre (DoorDash Taco Bell is better and that’s saying a lot…). For the price, you’re paying for the ambience/atmosphere because the food itself is nothing to write home about. you will literally find better steak at IHOP or Outback. We got the brussel sprouts, mushrooms, stuffed hashbrowns and the NY Strip. The overall quality at American Beauty might be acceptable for inebriated patrons but for those who are able to taste their food, take your steak night elsewhere. Anywhere else really. BOA, Meat on Ocean, Masteos and as I said, Outback or a Ruth’s Chris will do more to satisfy your steak cravings. If you like paying for overpriced mediocrity, this place might do the trick. Otherwise, skip.
