Hands down the BEST place for authentic food. My mom has been coming here for as long as she can remember and it has always been consistent. Gyro packed with meat, fresh vegetables and delicious sauce. The feta melted in your mouth. This place is also great for a romantic dinner and I will be bringing my wife here. This is honestly one of best places in the Burgh for lunch or dinner.

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Amel’s. This restaurant is one of Pittsburgh’s Hidden Gems. A best kept secret tucked away in the South Hills -use your GPS if you’re not familiar with the roads. The neon sign and the Arabian Nights decor create a romantic and whimsy atmosphere. According to the restaurant website, Amel’s has been named one of Pittsburgh’s “Most Romantic Spots”.
They have a lounge/bar side and a family-friendly dining room. I recommend a reservation on busy nights and weekends. The service is impeccable.
And, most importantly, the food is delicious. They have an extensive menu with something for everyone.
We tried the stuffed grape leaves, the hummus and the baba ghanoush as appetizers. Absolutely delicious! For my meal, I had the chicken taboo with an Amel’s salad. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted even better than it looked!
For dessert, a simple piece of baklava is all you need with my personal favorite, a Turkish Coffee. I only advise that Turkish Coffee is for a real coffee connoisseur because it is very strong, very dark coffee.
I highly recommend a visit to Amel’s. It is a real treat and a special place.

Had a great time at Amel’s this past fall. Got this Smashing Pumpkin special – salmon, shrimp, scallops rissoto in a pumpkin, paired well with some sangria. Super flavorable.

First time here, quaint little place. Not a lot of seating but the food was plentiful, fresh and delicious. We will be back.

A truly disgusting place. The drink glass they brought was broken, 5 small pieces of dry lamb, the salad had too much dressing, they forgot to bring it and I had to remind them, and the price tag was outrageous. I never thought the best part of the dish could be the green beans. I don’t understand where all the positive reviews are coming from, and the crab soup was oversalted.

Delicious food. Amazing staff!

Updating my 5 to a 4. Visited on Sunday and we waited forever to get our food. Turns out – the waitress never put our order in.

Amel’s was very nice, with a large variety of food. Unfortunately we did not enjoy all the food we ordered. The cheeseburgers were good. The chicken shwarma was quite bland and tasted more like a wrap than a shwarma. The mixed kabob platter was expensive for one skewer of kabobs. Overall not a place suited to our tastes. However – I will say that the place was pretty busy and seems to be quite popular.

We went here the other night with some for the first time. We didn’t have a reservation and the place was packed at 7pm. Surprisingly it was only a 20 minute wait. We sat in the back room and it was pretty loud. It was hard to have a conversation at the table. Our waiter was quick and explained the menu. It was nice because they had a little bit of everything. There were vegetarian options, seafood, and your basic sandwiches as well. We shared an appetizer platter and stuffed artichoke hearts with goat cheese. Then for dinner I got the lamb shank. It fell completely off the bone. It was so tender and flavorful. The desserts were the icing on the cake. I got the chocolate mousse cake. It was not overly sweet and the cake was moist. Overall I can’t wait to visit again.

Went to this place with a friend. Great food and good times. We sat at the bar and it was decorated festively for the holidays I enjoyed the cute decor. The bar tender was super friendly.

I tried a chicken dish and it was super yummy. Really cheesy with mushrooms and tomatoes the rice was super buttery and really tasty as well. My friend got the Scallops and he said that they were really good too. This place is just all around delicious. The only bad part to this restaurant is the parking. It’s terrible!! Other than that I totally recommend this place!

We celebrated my birthday at Amel’s on a recent Saturday night during Valentine’s Day week. The restaurant was quite full but without reservations we were quickly seated and received excellent service. We ordered hummus as our appetizer which was delicious! My dinner was the chicken taboo which was served with a tasty salad. My meal exceeded my expectations and my husband felt the same about his! This is such a cozy restaurant which made for a wonderful date night!
