Initially our experience was very promising. Appetizers were excellent and service was great. Unfortunately, our entrees were bland, tasteless, and unsatisfying. The food, mixed with the dated atmosphere made for an overall disappointing experience that was not worth the price.

My feeling is everything is better with feta ♥️ This is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. Today I ordered lunch and picked it up to take it home. Please be aware, if you see that delivery is available, that is a scam. Amel’s is a dine-in or pick up restaurant only. They will not pay fees for a delivery service. I don’t blame them. I think it’s worth either eating there or picking up and enjoying their beautiful restaurant.

I had the filet with shrimp, the amels salad, and for appetizers… meatballs. The meatballs were good, had some great seasonings on them, along with the bread they gave us… delicious. The Steak was a Little mediocre, as far as steaks go… but it’s on the high end of mediocre… so it’s still pretty good. Just didn’t seem to “wow” me or knock me out of my socks. The shrimp was good with that, and the mashed potatoes along with green beans and all the other sides… were excellent. The salad was just as good as the steak. I would definitely come back and recommend if I was nearby, but it wouldn’t factor in as a “I’m gonna drive two hours to eat here”.

I enjoyed this meal. Although I was very concerned about the pricing when I first arrived. If you talk to your waiter or take a knowledgeable friend (Thank you Barb) you can navigate this place for right around 20 a person. The gyro platter not only was a lot of food, it was well prepared, and fresh! Locally sourced ingredients but not like it’s a thing… good choice if your in the area! I need to check out their lunch specials soon

A hidden gem in the South Hills of Pittsburgh! Fresh, homemade and amazing! Signature She Crab soup is worth the trip in its self!! Full bar with good beers on tap.

Very good food…I tried the pepper fettuccini and my wife had the lobster angels…The hummus was also very good! We didn’t like very much the pita bread, was kind of hard but in general service was really good the energy in the place was very warm and gentle! We will be back! very pleased!

I recommend a reservation. We stopped in on a weekday night and were not able to get a table for two. Larger parties definitely need a reservation. We were able to find a couple of seats at the bar. But I think we just lucked out. The bar was also full.

Good thing we made reservations! Parking is difficult. They have a small lot in front of the building, and a larger, gravel lot, behind the building. Both were almost completely full when we arrived. We were seated at a nice booth. Wait staff was plentiful and we were quickly offered water as well as menus. Our waitress was delightful. She has obviously been with the restaurant for a long time and knew the menu inside and out. She was attentive to us and her other tables, and took good care of all our needs. We made sure to reward her efforts in the tip we left.
