Stopped in for lunch. I enjoyed my lettuce wrap grilled chicken, but the Taziki sauce was all accumulated at the bottom of the wrap so I fork/knifed the meal which I would’ve anyway since I don’t like eating messy food with my hands. The fries were delicious and hard to stop eating. The wrap had a good generous amount of chicken. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place had a good vibe – even the music was on point for a Mediterranean style restaurant. Orders are placed @ counter. They did bring our lunches to the table. Don’t know if that’s the norm when they get busy.

This is hands-down some of the best Greek food I’ve had anywhere, which is honestly astounding considering it’s tucked away in the mountains and not in a major metro city.
The owner Mike and his Greek wife have an amazing story which he kindly shared with us during our visit. The ambience and service was terrific and the back history to the place is also amazing, considering her family comes from many generations of being in the Greek restaurant industry, which shows in the quality of the food and the amazing Greek baking!
I ordered the lamb gyro, and it was absolutely perfect: beautifully cooked, well-seasoned, tender, and topped with just the right amount of tzatziki so nothing overpowered anything else. Every bite was balanced and flavorful.
The hummus and pita were equally impressive. The hummus had a smooth, spot-on consistency and wasn’t overly garlicky (which is rare and appreciated), and the pita was exactly how it should be, warm, slightly crunchy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside.
For dessert, it just kept getting better. The Greek donuts (loukoumades) were unreal, perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and dusted with just the right amount of powdered sugar. The chocolate Greek cake had a texture similar to a coffee cake but with richer, deeper flavors and a perfect crumb. And the vanilla Greek dessert was outstanding, a great balance of nuts, granola-style cake, and classic Greek dessert flavors, all coming together beautifully without being overly sweet.
Ambrosia Kaféneio is a total gem. If you didn’t know better, you’d swear this place belonged in a big city with a massive food scene. If you’re anywhere in the High Country, this is an absolute must-stop.

We had Rice bowl with Lamb & Chicken gyro, loved it. Their dessert collection was amazing and we end up trying chocolate cake and Kunafa based custard kinda thing. Both were delicious and I really loved the perfect amount of sweetness in them. Like not too sugary nor bland but just perfect. It’s a family restaurant and they treated their customers with huge respect and super friendly. Many artifacts were interesting to see. I would highly recommend this place.

HOLY COW my socks are BLOWN CLEAN OFF. I love ambrosia fav spot in Boone I hadn’t been since they made room for the bakery but I was not disappointed. I got the crazy chicken with a side of orzo salad and it was so insanely good. Tasted so good and fresh. The fellow that take my order was so polite and great! The manager was working on stuff in the dining area and was attentive to me and my needs. I asked him about the bakery and he offered me a donut to try! So phenomenal would so highly recommend!

I’ve been a fan of Ambrosia back since they were High Country Greek. Our meal tonight was fantastic – Crazy Chicken Gyros, Greek Salad, Orzo Pasta and Fries. Everything was so very fresh and good!
As I was leaving, one of the owners introduced me to their new bakery items. We chose a slice of the Baklava Cheesecake and I have to say it was unreal. If you’re a baklava fan and a cheesecake fan, you will love this! They also had Carrot Cake, Limoncello Cake, and a couple of other items to choose from.

Very glad I happened on this place. I was craving a gyro. Very good customer service. I was greeted on entry and advised where to find the menu. I ordered a few lamb gyros and Greek fries.
The lamb was tender but had no flavor.
Fries would have been great if the Feta added was cut in half and a tad of salt added to them. The feta overpowered the fries. The baklava was good.

Cozy atmosphere with welcoming staff. We got the food to-go and it came out quickly and was super tasty. The donuts are delicious with a great variety and many other great bakery options for whatever you’re in the mood for. We’re excited to hear about kids trivia on the weekends! Will recommend and come back again!

Fantastic food!! We stopped here with very hungry tummies after a long day of skiing. What an absolute treat! The lamb was perfection! We had the lamb gyro, lamb greek salad and hummus, 5 stars for everything. Service was really good and fast, we will 100% be back for more!
