We are a family friendly Restaurant and Bar specializing in home cooked daily specials, a variety of poutine’s, burgers and hand breaded tenderloins. We have a huge outdoor patio with the occupancy of 160 people. It’s that great little family run hole in the wall place you look for when traveling, with very welcoming amazing staff.

Stopped for lunch while traveling across iowa. Really good food and very friendly helpful server. Only think not perfect were the stools at the tables. Those are so uncomfortable

Random lunch stop right at 11am. Went with a high top table near the bar. There are several different seating areas/options. I wanted to stand so chose a high top.
Nice bar decor with beer signs, vintage items, tins, etc. I was the only one there until about 1130. Then there was a steady crowd.
Had the Amber Special which was chicken with cheese, mushrooms, bacon, lettuce, tomato. Very good! Fries thick but still crispy on the outside. Also very good.
Breakfast offered all day. There were several things that looked good.
Happy hour specials 3p-6p daily. Looked like they are closed Mondays.
TVs and jukebox and arcade games and karaoke. Great variety of things to do.
I ordered gizzards to go and my total was $30. Had a pop with my meal. So….3 or 4 meals for $30. Fair!
Plenty of paved parking and a patio for nice weather.

This was a very pleasant surprise. Awesome food, great service and fun atmosphere. We sat at the bar and chatted with the locals..Had wings. Tgey were great and then took a wrap to go! .Highly recommend! We will go back for sure!

First time in. Showed up around 8:30 on a Tuesday night. Was greated like a regular. The vibe was good and the taco and tamale special was just as well. True roadhouse environment! Game room in the back with a pool table, dart board and some other game machines. I’m sure Friday or Saturday nights are a blast. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

From greet to seat to eat it was a great experience. I enjoyed the fried tenderloin with fries. It was served on a fresh soft toasted bun with all the fixings. The veggies were fresh and crisp. The pork was perfect crunchy juicy and taste amazing. It was also a very large portion and that made it well worth the menu price. Our server was friendly and she knew the menu from top to bottom front to back. Can’t wait to eat there again soon.

Nice local bar/restaurant we must have just hit the timing off. Our server Tina was a rock star! They seemed to be having trouble in the kitchen. Our food to table was extremely slow. Apparently they got a huge take out order before us. We enjoyed the breakfast all day options. They have darts and some video games. They could be so much better with a few tweaks like serving first in, first out. The well bloody Mary’s are good and are on sale for $6.00 on Sunday.

Everyone at my table ordered a pork tenderloin. Both fried and grilled tenderloins were outstanding; when asked about the process, the waitress said they cut and pound their own fresh tenderloin .
I had a side salad with my Ambro’s Protein Special, and all of the greens were crisp and delicious. I was shocked that the mushrooms were fresh, and that alone will keep me coming back.
I definitely recommend Ambro’s for any meal of the day.

My wife and I were in Earlham buying some Halloween items. On the way back to the Des Moines metro…we were going to grab a bite to eat. I had been here one time a couple years ago with friends but only had a beer. But I recommended to my wife that we should try it based on what I had heard from others. We split a breaded tenderloin and some onion rings…along with a cup of chili for my wife. Morgan was super polite and chatted with us often…but she was vigilant to make sure to keep the other customers taken care of. Travis…the cook was very interactive with me as I expressed being surprised and happy that they hand bread their tenderloins. He said…yes…and we tenderize and pound them here before the hand breading. It tasted awesome! Super tender…breading wasnt too thick or greasy at all! Onion rings were not greasy either! Also very generous servings! Chili was….chili. Not too shabby. Morgan and Travis get an absolute thumbs up from us on our visit. We will be back. ❤️

We have stopped here several times, food is good, service is usually good but somewhat slow, we usually sit in the “dining room” and not the bar area. Today was probably the last straw though. We got our drinks fairly quickly, just waters, and then nothing for the next 20 minutes. It was like we were invisible. A couple that came in after us was never approached by staff and left after 15 minutes. We waited until the 25 minute mark before we left. Unsure what the issue was, Sunday at 1 pm, not very busy. Staff were friendly and told us to “have a nice day” on our way out. I don’t think they even realized they had failed to take our orders.
