Burgers were delicious, I tried the infamous DH Fancy Burger and the meat was thick 10oz and crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. Flavorful and great. Fries were delicious and also had a smash patty melt. Food food good but I felt was way too expensive $25 for the burger combo.

Located inside the Haven City Market, they have bar/counter seating as well as the shared cafeteria style tables and chairs in the main marketplace. I had the Classic double smashed Amboy burger with everything and my son also chose the classic double smashed but with chili, hold the pickles. At first bite, I had a very unladylike groan, the patties were cooked just the way I love it. Son thoroughly enjoyed his chili burger too. The fries were hot and fresh. Both meals came with a choice of a drink. Ranch dressing was extra but we got two for one. The sauce came in a 1/3 cup sized container and it was definitely made in-house. Service was nice and friendly.

Went to Amboy and it was super good! It’s not my first time eating one of these burgers but it is my first time at this location – the new spot inside of Haven City Market.
I got the fancy double smash burger. Chef Alvin was there doing his thing in the kitchen and chopping it up with customers. I even got a picture with him!
At the time of this review, the restaurant is in a period of soft opening and the grand opening is on May 3. So until then, items like the DH burger are not on the menu. But the full menu will be available on May 3.
The service was great. The atmosphere was nice and lively. And of course the burger was worth bragging about.

Tried it after hearing all the hype—honestly, it was just okay. I think a lot of the buzz comes from the owner being well known. The burger itself was a bit on the salty side, and while the fries were decent, they tasted exactly like McDonald’s fries—nothing special. Also, heads up: they charge $1.50 for peppers, which felt a bit excessive. I’m glad I gave it a try, but there are definitely better smash burger spots out there.

First of all when my brothers told me they have AMBOY @the newly open HAVEN CITY food hub in WEST COVINA my first thought is SMASHBURGER finally we did visit AMBOY@ haven city west covina location to try the burger.the sesame seed bun has a good crisp to it that compliment the burger.AMBOY special sauce onions pickles melted cheese is a good yummy umami.overall AMBOY is a must try burger MASARAP

I went with the classic double paddy AM style with the combo. The burger itself was pretty good and dripping with sauce, which makes a bit of a mess on your hands. The fries are actually better than what I was expecting and it’s a decent amount for the small size (I assume that’s what you get for the combo).
Price wise it’s going to be more than your usual in n out double double, but at least the size is a bit bigger, so that does offset the cost per poundage ratio. I think at some point I’ll return and see if their premium aged burger is worth the price.

Burgers took a while to come out, pretty stingy with the ketchup. Overall way too overpriced for what it was, probably added to the disappointment. One and done type of thing.
