Unfortunately, I come from New Jersey where even the worst meal I’ve had was better than this. It was only downhill when the complimentary salad clearly came out of a bag. I ordered the sauerbrauten and they definitely did not seem to skimp on the “sauer” because it was very acidic, so the overcooked steak was actually better without the sauce.

The worst part of the meal for me personally was that the private party room was extremely hot, and since it had is own bathroom attached, the whole room smelled like urinal cake. Not the best cake to smell while eating tbh.

However, none of this should reflect on the servers- they were excellent. My 90 year old grandfather enjoyed his meal so that was good at least!

If you love German food, don’t bother. If you like salt, flavor, or a great deal on your meal, also don’t waste your time.
My steak stroganoff ($24) arrived with bland curdled sauce and sopping wet noodles. The potato pancakes (2 for $11.50) are the size of small hamburger patties and aren’t actually authentic potato pancakes, but rather fried mashed potato cakes. Our three sausage sampler ($19) was mid–the bratwurst tasted like a hamburger patty, the knockwurst tasted like soapy bologna, but the Lithuanian sausage was pretty on point. The sauerkraut balls ($10.50) were good, the star of the dish being the side sauces. The mashed potato and sauerkraut sides were great. Our “Caesar” salads were regular house salads.
Good portions for the sausage dinner, huge portion of the (unedible) stroganoff, and disappointing potato pancakes for the price.
Do yourself a favor, and just don’t.
***of note, the staff and ambiance were delightful. But its really unfortunate what they serve out of that kitchen.

My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here once. Brought our kids. Our waitress was sweet. Gave us some history about the Amber Rose. Loved the service overall. The food was delicious. The cheesecake was amazing. Ideal environment for a lovely evening out.

I had my 75th birthday celebration at Amber Rose. There were 80 in attendance and everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the banquet room. The ladies that setup the room, buffet and drinks were awesome. Thank you so much for providing us such an awesome time.

Had a great experience. The pierogis were great, as was the schnitzel and spätzle. The beef stroganoff, for some reason, was overly sweet, almost to the point of calling it a dessert… we took it home and added some beef stock and Worcestershire to get rid of the sweetness. The atmosphere and staff were fantastic.

We were in a large group and ordered across the menu. Everything from the sauerkraut balls to the cabbage rolls to the perogies was excellent. We hadn’t been in a while but will definitely be back soon.

The pergoies were the only thing edible. The food was under seasoned, the noodles were over cooked and the sauce on stroganoff was super runny. The pergoies were the only thing we had that was done correctly.

The service was decent once we were attended to. The restaurant has a cool history but the prices and food are not worth it.

Went to dinner here with my fiancé and her side of the family back in August. I never knew there was a German restaurant in the Dayton area, and am slightly ashamed that I didn’t learn of it sooner. Food was delicious and well worth its price, and the staff were very understanding and accommodating. Will definitely be eating here again!

Amber Rose is a favorite restaurant of ours and was an easy decision to use them for our wedding reception dinner! Joe was great to work with and all of the servers were very helpful in keeping the flow of the meal going and keeping tables cleaned of trash. We had countless compliments from guests about the food and everyone was going back for second and third trips to get more! “Wedding food is usually blah but this was so good!” Was something we heard from multiple people! Would recommend them in a heartbeat!
