The restaurant offers water at the start of the meal and customers are given a choice between ice or no ice. This was fantastic for my girlfriend who doesn’t like ice in her products. Most restaurants don’t offer that kind of courtesy. The next option is a choice between regular or garlic naan. We chose garlic naan—best choice ever! It was amazing!
We got the lunch buffet and a soft drink. In total, we paid about $18 per person for lunch and beverage.
The buffet was chocked full of good food. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the way they stored the rice on the buffet, using plastic wrap to portion out what’s exposed to the light, meant they could keep it fresher longer. All the food was delightfully flavorful, not too overpowering, not too salty, and not too spicy. The only dish that wasn’t up to par was the chicken tikka masala, where the chicken was a little dry/overcooked, but we’re talking about a 95% success rate here, where all the other dishes had tender fall off the bone, juicy meat, and/or brilliant flavor.
While I was taking pictures, Anam’s husband, Rikki, informed me that the lunch buffet’s menu changes all the time. So the pictures provided may not reflect what is available on the day you choose to visit.
Between the service, the food, and the fair pricing, this place was a steal and I am definitely going back.
If you’ve got the privilege to try their goat curry, I highly recommend it.
Thank you, Rikki and Anam for a wonderful dining experience. Hope to see you two again in the near future!
Pictures provided are of the happy couple, the buffet and a look at some of the stuff I got to try while I was there.
I could tell the food was old and they weren’t refilling anything. Our waiter asked if we wanted Naan bread, and we said yes. We did not receive our Naan until we asked about it after we had almost finished our food. He admitted he had forgotten about it. When it did come out, it was actually good and fresh. That was the highlight of the meal. Refills were sparse, and my husband ended up just grabbing the whole pitcher of water and bringing it to our table. Our waiter also decided to make himself a plate and eat as well so couldn’t be bothered to pay us much mind.
Won’t be going back here again. It’s pricey and not worth it. Go to Dehli Palace downtown if you want a delicious Indian buffet!
