Visited this establishment based on a recommendation. The quality of the food is really good but the portions are relatively small for the price.
Service is decent and the servers are friendly and attentive. Took a bit for them to take my order.
I ordered a roll and requested to add avocado. I wasn’t aware the avocado would cost me $2 on top of the price of the roll. I wish they would have shared that piece of information with me.
This is a relatively small spot, great for a quick bite and conversation since the ambient music is soft.

A hidden gem I am so glad I found. The service was pleasant and the food was delicious. The chicken pad Thai was one of the most flavorful I have had in a while and the sushi was so fresh. The Panko Chicken Buns were a great starter! I can’t wait to come back for more.

The rooms are decent-sized by New York standards, but they are definitely smaller than what the pictures suggest. The location is great, the hotel is fairly new, and the rooms are well maintained.
However, there is one important issue to consider. In the mornings, roughly from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., it is extremely difficult to get an elevator and leave your room, 2 elevator are reserved for the restaurant during breakfast hours, leaving only one elevator for the entire hotel, which is quite large and has many rooms.
We stayed 3 nights and 4 days, and every morning getting out of our room felt like a mission. One day, we waited over 30 minutes and eventually had to take the stairs because the elevator never came. Thankfully, we were on the 8th floor, but if you’re staying on a higher floor, this could be a serious problem.
If you’re traveling with elderly family members, strollers, or anyone with mobility challenges (as we were), this is definitely something to take into consideration.
Overall, we didn’t have any major issues with the hotel, but I do feel guests should be clearly informed about the elevator situation. For tourists on a schedule, this can become a significant inconvenience.

Amber on the Upper West Side has been one of our go to spots for many years. We probably order take-out more than we dine in but the sushi and service is absolutely fantastic in either setting. Amber is definitely our favorite sushi spot in the surrounding area. We have never really had a bad experience here in the 10 plus years that we’ve frequented the place. Highly recommend.

Wow! I can’t think of a better word. Small, intimate, and really delectable offerings. Nothing too complicated and nothing too ordinary. We ordered the Trio Sashimi and it came with a rice melange that was unexpected with mushrooms and other savory bits, and the Pink Lady that was so fresh and a perfect balance of flavors. I started imagining if I could ever have a private party here. It is so lovey!

Enjoyed a nice meal of “Sushi for 1”, shrimp shumai, and sake.
The sushi combo was a good value, the shumai was perfectly cooked, and the service was great. Nice spot for a quick(ish) dinner.

I ordered takeout because it’s close to my dorm. I had the tempura eel and avocado roll and some mango salad. It was great. I also ordered some dumplings but their website didn’t say that the dumplings had shrimp. Thankfully I’m only intolerant to shellfish and not like “throat-closes-up” allergic, but I found out after eating half of one and sadly could not enjoy the rest of them.
