Let me start off by saying that the way they have the DoorDash menu setup is very confusing. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap, thinking I was going to get a juicy flavorful wrap with all the veggies and trimmings that I’ve had in the past . So in the app it gives you choices of what to add on, but here’s the confusing part, they charge 75cents per ingredient. I thought it was supposed to be included. So I tested out the baba ganesh and added that and it charged an extra dollar . When I received my wrap I noticed how small it was for a total of almost $20. Chicken was dry as a desert, no sauce, no veggies , heck not even the baba ganush that they did in fact charged me extra for !!! Not in the sandwich not on the side no sauce , no veggies, just dry chicken!

I could not have more good things to say about this place! Every single thing I tried was amazing and they gave great recommendations for anything I was unsure of, as well as offering a sample. It was like a Mediterranean chipotle but super fresh and tasty! I hope they get thousands more customers and stay here forever- great people and great food!

I love the rice pudding here! It cannot be beaten!! I order the gyro which is also delicious and their Greek fries are out of this world! The greek fries are shaken up seasoned, with cheese! Prices are great, as well! This is a wonderful new business!

AMAZING! Fantastic food and impeccable service at a local, family-owned restaurant run by Rami and his brother. Rami truly served us: he enthusiastically invited us to ask questions and try everything before we made decisions on what we wanted. He generously kept giving samples and seemed genuinely excited that we had chosen to come to AMBA looking for a little adventure. We were NOT disappointed! Everything we tried was phenomenal! We shared 3 separate bowls of various combinations of proteins and vegetables and we loved them all (one vegetarian, one chicken, one beef). Their tzatziki and baba ghanoush were fantastic, and all of their varieties of homemade hummus were so deeply flavorful. But it was Rami’s passion and joy in serving us that really stood out. We asked so many questions, and he loved telling us about his father and the family history in the restaurant business, along with the recipes that have been passed down for generations. This was truly a special experience! The process of ordering is quite easy, especially with such helpful staff, and everything is laid out in front of you as you go (and there are also signs and descriptions of ingredients that are quite handy). If you’re anywhere near Joliet or just driving through, you need to stop at AMBA!

Really great! This is a build your own bowls/wraps style place. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The food was so great- we tried the chicken and steak and both were delicious. The falafel was nice and crispy with great flavor. Decent amount of seating. You could bring a small party. Must try!

Every single time we go here, it’s phenomenal. The owners are working the grill, the whole crew is working there butts off to constantly make some of the best food in the area. Never had a bad experience or a bad meal – it’s my go to for lunch, dinner and everything in between. Ever since we found this place, we go AT LEAST once a week. Support small businesses like this that constantly elevate food and produce a great experience. I see people complain about using 3rd party apps like DoorDash or UberEats – just go into the shop or use their own website.
