If you’re looking for authentic Somali food and genuine hospitality, you absolutely have to check out this place! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed like family warm smiles, kind service, and such a comfortable atmosphere.
The food? Incredible. Every dish was full of rich, traditional Somali flavor. The bariis was perfectly spiced, the meat was tender and juicy, and the fresh juice was the perfect finishing touch. You can really taste the love and care that goes into the cooking.
What truly stood out was how welcoming everyone was. It’s rare to find a restaurant that makes you feel this at home while also serving top-quality food.
Highly recommend to anyone who wants real Somali cuisine done right. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Got a to go order that was ready in less than 10 minutes.
The spices in the sambusas were perfect, so warm and homey. Goat was falling off the bone tender. Enormous portion of pasta and a perfectly ripe banana for some sweetness.
I definitely had leftovers from this! One plate could easily feed 2. Also got a mango smoothie and it tasted very fresh and fruity. Saving the halwa for tomorrow, and I’m sure it will be lovely. Highly recommend this place for excellent Somali cooking

This was our first time trying this kind of food & we were blown away.
Everything was soooo flavorful. We tried chicken and beef. Both were phenomenal. Even the beans and spinach sides were packed full of delicious spices.
We got a ton of food. It was enough for two meals for us. Highly recommend this place.
Run, don’t walk to AMAYE!!!

Came in and ordered some lamb and rice. The portions were huge. The lamb fell off the bone and had a great flavor to it. The rice that came with it was flavorful.

Clean and comfortable restaurant with gracious staff and exceptionally good food. Walked in, ordered at the counter, and what arrived at my table was some of the best Somali food I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. The rice was full of flavor as was the chicken suqar. Chapati were fresh, with a slightly chewy texture that went perfectly with the chicken. The basbaas (green salsa) was also very good and went well with the whole meal. Overall, I loved this place for both the food and people, and will definitely be back here when I’m in Portland again.

Had the goat plate with spaghetti & it was DELICIOUS. The goat was flavorful, tender and fell off the bone. The salad was refreshing, the spaghetti was wonderful & packed w/flavors I enjoyed yet never tasted before! We also had the hot tea that hit the spot on a cold day, its also a sweet spiced tea!
