We had dinner at the newly opened Amaya Taqueria in Rockwall, and y’all… it’s a must-try!
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was on point, and the food? Absolutely delicious.
I had the suizas enchiladas and my guy ordered the tacos de lengua—both packed with bold, authentic flavor. The chips and salsa? Fresh, crisp, and full of flavor.
Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and there was a steady flow of happy diners the whole time we were there—which is always a good sign!
I already spotted a few dishes I want to come back and try. Safe to say, Amaya Taqueria is officially in our Rockwall foodie rotation.

We went there for the first time because we were passing by the area and loved it. The servers are very nice and have an amazing friendly attitude. We try the torta cubana and tacos. The place is small but you can feel a very good atmosphere. We’ll definitely go back to try something different.

I wanted to love this place based off the reviews and their social media posts however it was mediocre at best. Their chips and salsa were probably the best part of the trip! Way overpriced for the quality of food you get! Food came out sporadically with my fajitas coming last when 2 of the 4 people were already done eating. The beef of the fajitas was super weird texture. The service was good but food was cafeteria almost.

I have lots of favorite taco spots in the area, so it’s hard to go to a new place. We’ll, this was worth the shot… Tacos were great, service was great and the atmosphere set the tone… In my best terminator voice… “I’ll be back”

Legit Mexican food and it was delicious. My husband is super picky with menudo and he loved it. They are not stingy with their meat either. The tacos were filled. My son got a quesadilla and it was stuffed with meat. The sopes were fresh hand made and so so good. The service was impeccable. Clean inside. Our new go to spot.

The tacos are outstanding, the tortas are loaded and delicious, and everything tastes homemade and done right. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the quality is top-notch.
On top of that, our server Delia was incredible—friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her great service made an already fantastic meal even better. If you’re looking for real, flavorful Mexican food with excellent service, this place is a must-try. We’ll definitely be back again and again!

Amaya Mexica Restaurant in Rockwall is truly a hidden gem for authentic Mexican food. The mole enchiladas were absolutely delicious—finding a really good mole sauce is hard, and they nailed it perfectly. Rich, flavorful, and authentic.
Delia, our server, was delightful and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The customer service was excellent, and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine Mexican flavors!

Hands down the best MENUDO and tacos de tripe in the dallas/metroplex area. Atmosphere is great, food is amazing and service is spectacular. Hats off to Amari she was our server managed to attend to us while having other tables and taking to go orders. Outstanding overall.

Bro, you’ve got to sear the steak. I mean, it’s a must—you have to do it, dude. I don’t care what anyone says. The texture and the taste are drastically different when you do.
The sauce was great; you need to teach me how to make it—the orange one. I left a tip for the takeout because I was in a good mood, but you’ve got to sell the brand to me; a little chit-chat helps.
I’m not going to judge the restaurant on this one experience—it sure beats Taco Casa—but come on, man, the quesadilla was so bad. It’s a basic quesadilla; don’t overcomplicate things. That is kids’ food; grown men or women shouldn’t be ordering it. If you can’t make it simple, and it looks more like a torta, then count me out. Keep it simple and make it look like a quesadilla. If my kids don’t love it, I don’t want to go back. Hopefully, next time is better. This restaurant won’t go anywhere if the kids aren’t happy with the food. Family’s have to love the food not just the parents . I had to cook for my kids when I got home they typically eat the quesadilla. Nope not this time .
