I first went to this wonderful Burmese restaurant on the fourth day of January this year. This was to celebrate the seventy-seventh anniversary of Myanmar’s day of independence from Great Britain. I fondly recollect that day being the first time I ever had Burmese cuisine.

Then, I went to this place again for the second time last night after visiting a Laotian and Thai restaurant that was not too far from the place and having my first taste of Laotian cuisine in honor of Laotian independence day which was on the twenty-second of October. I loved the coconut chicken noodle soup and the hot Burmese tea I had for my first and second visits. I enjoyed the samosas I had for my first visit. And lastly, I loved the plain palata I had as an appetizer for the second visit.

Delicious food and a family-run local feel. The family that owns restaurant are so kind. The food is sweet and super savory, we ordered two different chicken dishes, the chicken curry was tender and amazing, and the duck noodles. The noodles were the best texture and so satisfying. It’s really comforting food. We also got some peppers on the side and coconut rice to mix into each dish. I recommend this spot to anyone!

Great place to stop by after a day at GSP. Affordable prices and friendly customer service. They even gave us a free bag of chips for being a first time customer. Was so excited to try Burmese food for the first time. Will be back to try their curry ! Parking was easy as they have a lot shared with the other stores.

Very unique and tasty food, if you like Vietnamese and Thai food, you will definitely love here!

Owner is very friendly, you will leave with full stomach and satisfaction.

Pro tip: dry noodles is better than soup noodles

As a Burmese, I highly recommend it! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we had. Owner was so kind and friendly as well. Very nice music, good atmosphere, clean restrooms, excellent food, what’s more to ask for? Go stuff your face here!

Amayar Kitchen is a gem! The food was absolutely delicious, I cleaned my plate like it was my job . Service was great, and the chef was super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Already looking forward to my next visit (because my taste buds won’t let me stay away for long)!

Amayar Kitchen is my new Burmese obsession—a cozy, welcoming spot in Maywood I’m proud to rave about! I always visit whenever I’m in the area, and every time I go in curious and leave stuffed because honestly, I can’t stop eating. The food is phenomenally authentic Burmese, made with the freshest ingredients that hit every taste bud just right—spicy for thrill-seekers, milder for the rest of us. I devour the tea leaf salad (crunchy perfection with fermented tea leaves, nuts, dried shrimp, and fresh veggies in that tangy, nutty dressing). Then the coconut noodles and pork curry hook me—bold, comforting warmth that tastes homemade but elevated. I eat way too much every visit, couldn’t help it; portions are generous and everything’s that good!
Chat with owner Sato—he’s this engaging, passionate guy who gives spot-on recs tailored to me and shares cool stories.
Grab the sweet tea to balance it all—pure refreshment. Even the bathroom décor is stylish and spotless, showing their pride in every detail.Absolute must-visit—see you there soon!

After passing by this restaurant several times, we decided to give it a try today.
My husband always told me that the food must be good because it was always full and he was right!! We tried the spring rolls, samosas, coconut chicken noodle soup, and bait noodles. We shared everything and it was spectacular!
The soup was very creamy and the ingredients were in perfect balance. I have to emphasize that the customer service was excellent. The owner of the restaurant helped us with everything; giving suggestions with warmth and kindness which made the visit very pleasant. We will definitely return soon!

We had an amazing time at Amayar Kitchen! Everything was beyond flavorful. I would definitely recommend Bait Noodles- the squid and shrimp were to die for! They gave us complimentary chips because it was our first time. They were spicy and just the right amount of perfect. I was obsessed. Service was excellent; the owner and the waitress were so sweet and very helpful. We can’t wait to come back to try the rest of their menu!
