I dropped by this place with my wife today. We ordered half cheesesteak sandwich. The portion was so generous that we had to take half back home. This is definitely the best cheesesteak sandwich I have had so far in the US. My wife didn’t understand why I got so excited about the sandwich, but I could tell, the sandwich was made seriously with respect for customers. I strongly recommend this place for a bite of the cheesesteak sandwich. It is probably the best in the whole bay area.

Good cheese. Good steak. Good bread. Honestly love coming here for a cheat day and wolfing down one of these guys. Service is quick and while the price might seem steep it’s a BIG sandwich. Thanks guys !

We’ve Been eating Amatos for many years, the bread is the best thing about it! Soft and warm. They’re very skimpy on the mushrooms and cheese, the meat needs more seasoning.

I wasn’t paying attention the first time I walked in, I was thinking it was a pizza place. “Nope”, the guy behind the counter said, adding, “we make the best cheese steak sandwiches”. I lived in Philly for a few years, and I know my way around a good steak sandwich, so I said, “Sure, ‘one, whiz, with'”. I got a funny look, and then the guy handed me a menu. OK, I thought to myself, I’m in Northern California after all, and I can’t expect them to know what that means. So, I looked at the menu, and thought the prices were a bit high, and then I saw the cook working the grill. He knew what he was doing, so I ordered a half cheese steak sandwich, with “the works”. It took a while, they don’t rush, but they sure don’t disappoint either. The sandwich tasted great. It’s a nice touch that they have jars of peppers on the counter for customers to help themselves, just like back in Roxborough.

The Works cheesesteak is everything I hoped for. Generous portions, chewy bread, this was a forking sandwich. I barely completed the challenge with 4 mins to spare (24 in “the works” in 1 hour). It’s a bit out of the way, but worth finding. Yeah, I’ll be coming back.

Tasteless pule of meat with 3 slices of cheese. It was a lot of food ($25.00 per a sandwich) but it wasn’t very tasty. We tried the fries and the bacon cheese fries. Dont!
