Called in an order for 2 Cheese Pazzo Breads at 3:51pm
I was told it would be about 30 minutes which wasn’t a big deal, I just decided to grab a few things at the nearby Home Depot while I waited.
I walked in to the store at 4:40pm and went to the counter and gave them my name and what I ordered.
Apparently my order was given to someone else, or just not even put in.
And with how busy they were I had to wait an additional 20 minutes to actually get what I ordered almost an hour ago.
So obviously I was pretty upset. Although I will say I was pretty impressed with the manager that was on, who recognized that I was not in the least bit happy, and she gave me a $5 off coupon for next time, so I will give them Kudos on that part.
And the food actually looked amazing this time around, instead of being burnt like I usually end up with so I was pleased about that as well…

I came in to order food around 630 pm… Wow what an experience that was! The blonde older lady with dark eyebrows who seemed like the shift leader was so unprofessional. She was yelling and complaining about customers coming in. Here are some quotes from her:

“The dining room floor is trashed since all these people are coming in when it’s snowing so the dining rooms gonna need to be done tonight too” The young guy working also kept screaming “UGHHHHHHH” and swearing. The cashier Emmy was extremely nice, she deserves a raise. Everyone else was a complete unprofessional embarrassment and I hope the manager sees this and seriously speaks to them.

Too busy gossiping about other employees or making inappropriate comments about sexual references to make the food right. Why is there 6 people in the kitchen and not one person can get an order right?! Aren’t you adults?! How embarrassing. I come here often and I leave more disappointed every time!!! Went to this Amatos 2x. first time they tried to charge be $18 for a turkey and provolone sandwich with no fixings on it. Then a few days ago I went in to get a small grilled chicken salad, it cost $11, it was the worst salad iv ever had, the chicken was not just dry, it was too hard to bite through or rip apart, along with slimy cucumbers. Back in the day Amatos was the place to go, that is far from the truth now. dont waste your money here

Update: Gave them another try and it was horrifying. Check out the pics. Chunks of pickle, missing ingredients, leaving the top of the tomato, chunks of gp. What? I am embarrassed for the person that made it and served it to me. Your give a care is clearly not there. Will not return to this location. The food here is consistently fresh. I prefer my Italian sandwich made to order. They never fail to deliver quality sandwich
Update: my experience tonight was disappointing because most of the staff appeared to have no direction/lack training, were better at walking around and eating than they were at keeping this business thriving. Fact is a pizza came out of the oven and after much debate it was determined to be a mistake. I hear the gentleman cutting pizza ask another gentleman if he wanted to help eat the pizza. I offered to buy it. Nope. Out back that pizza went, to which he made several trips to eat, all the while my sandwich order and others sat on the make table. The food wasn’t great and didn’t appear to have any care taken. Incredibly disappointed

I order the double Italians from this location atleast once a week if not more with other fellow co workers. I can honestly say that even though most people that im friends with or work with that are from Mass or anywhere else in new England will say thats not a real Italian sandwich I say nah. It might be different from where they are from but the fresh bread and delicious home made pickles are outstanding and the price is absolutely affordable. Please continue to keep costs as low as possible and quality where it stands. Everything I order from here is delicious and I continue to praise your food to all that wanna listen to me babble on about food and I love to support local. Subway and jersey mikes dont hold a candle to your quality.

I’m sorry, but $7.50 for their small italian sandwich is insulting. I remembered them offering very cheap, but very simple subs, but that is clearly no longer a thing. Especially when the supermarket down the road is selling $5 full sized ones. Up your game or lower your prices.

I’m a huge fan of Amato’s, but this Westbrook location is a disaster. We’ve stopped here a few times since March of this year and each time it just got worse. We came in last month and were so disgusted that we will no longer stop at this one. The woman cashier was rude, interrupted us while trying to tell our order, didn’t let me even finish before moving on to the next item and had a permanent scowl on her face. My sandwich was made to the order I could give, but when I unwrapped it, it was a mess. Whoever made it slapped a bunch of tomatoes on, barely anything else and then when it was wrapped, they dug their fingers into it making it not even look like a sandwich. Won’t recommend here again.
