We’re the artsy specialty coffee roasters with the tiny 100% VEGAN coffee parlor! Located in the Joslyn Castle Neighborhood on what we call the “best lil breakfast corner” with Sweet Mags Bakeshop + Lisa’s Radial Café. ☕️We roast our coffees here at the parlor + hear whispers of “this coffee is so good” regularly so we must be doing something right. Oat milk is our default for drinks like lattés, capps, and cortados, so no need to specify unless you want almond. We have a a ton of vegan noms! Sweet Mags pastries, the best vegan/gf “chick’n” + waffles, vegan/gf breakfast burritos + quiche cups and chia puddings. Artemis Teas is our fav tea company. We don’t have single use cups — reusable glass jars are available for just $1!

A Total Vegan Oasis in Omaha!
I cannot say enough good things about Amateur Coffee. Finding a 100% vegan shop that is this high-quality felt like finding a little oasis.
Here is why you need to go:
The Food & Drink: Both the coffee and the waffles were absolute works of art—and they tasted even better than they looked! Everything is handmade and delicious, with incredible gluten-free options that didn’t feel like an afterthought.
Planet First: I was so impressed by their commitment to being minimal waste. They use reusable cups for to-go orders (or you can bring your own). It’s clear they deeply care about the earth and their impact on it.
The Vibe: The atmosphere is thoughtful, kind, and fun. You can tell they love people just as much as they love the planet.
Special Shoutout to David: David, is truly the best type of human. He was so kind and caring, taking the time to make us feel like important humans rather than just another transaction. He gave us fantastic suggestions for exploring Omaha and tips on which parts of the zoo to hit!
My only complaint? I don’t live next door! If you are in Omaha, this is a must-visit.

Vegan place !! Wow, amazing menu. This is so needed in Omaha. I ordered a cinnamon churro donut and a dragonfruit matcha latte. Delicious flavors. There is a little bit of counter space to sit with a few friends. Lots of natural lighting very casual and cozy and cute place for vegan snacks and drinks.

My friends and I went here to get our morning coffee. I got the drangon matcha , omg it was soo good. It was so delicious. The owner was so kind and friendly. The coffee shop gave us positive happy vibes. They also served us the matcha in glass bottles, if you return that glass bottle for your next order you get $2 off. Excellent marketing. I’ll definitely come back here again. Also my friend loved their donuts a lot.

What a gem! My daughter and I are both very sensitive to dairy so we often seek out vegan items and were so excited to find this place. This little shop is all vegan and is fantastic! They have lots delicious of pastry and breakfast items including some gluten-free. They have wonderful and creative coffee drinks as well as looseleaf tea, and coffee beans (roasted there!) for sale. The drip coffee I tried was amazing. Super friendly staff as well. We’ll definitely be back!

Cute little vegan shop. The staff were super friendly and helpful! I had their breakfast sandwich, gluten free chocolate frosted brownie and a pumpkin spice latte with their homemade coconut whipped cream. The service was quick. And the food was 9/10! I didn’t think I’d like tofu egg but it felt like I was eating the real thing. 10/10 would recommend checking this place out if you like pastries and good coffee.

The employees here are always kind and helpful, and the coffee and lattes are excellent! I also appreciate that they have some discounts available–for example, the purchase of a bag of beans comes with a free 12-oz drip coffee. Another obvious highlight is their low-waste business model, with the incorporation of glass jars for drinks instead of single-use paper/plastic. This coffee shop is an Omaha highlight!

My family and I stopped in for coffee and baked treats and our visit did not disappoint! Amateur Coffee has some nice daily brews that you can also purchase the beans to take home while also offering inventive lattes and other caffeinated beverages to charge you up! The baristas were super helpful and attentive during our visit. I will definitely be back for more good coffee and to take some beans home this time!
