Took a trip up to the UP from Atlanta to visit a close friend of mine and he took me to Amasa for a fish fry at Sawblade. What an experience, place reminded me of Alaska in the mid 70s. Food was top notch, I ordered the cheese cod which was incredible. We sat at the bar, had spectacular service and ate every bit of the food. The dessert were out of this world, I highly recommend this place if you’re up in that part of the world. I’ll never forget it.

First time actually eating here. Salad bar very decent, chili is good and the chicken wrap was great. Definitely coming back again.

What has happened to this place? Used to be good. Sad, sad experience. Meatloaf was COLD, seemed like it came out of the walk-in and stuck under a heat lamp. Vegetables watery and not seasoned. Mashed potatoes also cold and not like they used to be. What did you do with the gravy? Hated that slimy stuff you put on. Fries looked like a pile of dead, dark brown branches. Condescending man who worked there would not replace. He had the courtesy to tell me that potatoes have starch in them! A fact I’ve known since 1950. I am also a 50+ year professional chef and I have never had fries like that. No refills on coffee. Had to go to sink in ladies room for more water!!!

I had the hot turkey sandwich. They should probably use a little better turkey as it was just thin cut deli slices(and not quite enough turkey). The waitress/bartender was excellent as she was attending to a lot of customers.

Everything was amazing! They were so busy & out of perch but they still did a great job, especially Anthony. Hope to return again soon.

Food was bland, fish was small for the price and not good, service was ok. This place wasn’t even busy on a Friday night and they ran out of some of the fish offered. I had a burger with tater tots, took an hour to get food. Honestly thought of walking out, we should have and just gone to McDonald’s. At least we would have been prepared for the crappy food. Now our toilet is working overtime. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!

Great service! Friday fish fry was ok quality fish, but very small portions for the price. French fries were very old and most likely fried twice.
