Opened in 1998 across the street from the Holy Name Hospital on Cedar Lane in Teaneck, we decided on dinner here as first-timers for some of us inside a renovated carriage house. Parking is limited in front of the restaurant, but one can park on a nearby side street or across the street in a parking lot. We had dinner reservations for a party of 7 on Saturday night by calling the main line to Amarone, clearly popular with the locals.
Upon arrival at this small, quaint establishment, my partner, our friends and I were greeted by one of the owners and seated promptly in one of their dining rooms at a table covered with white tablecloth. The vibe was relaxed with dim lighting.
The menu is varied, serving authentic and traditional Northern Italian fare. There’s a separate menu of the day’s specials. For appetizers, we decided on some specials consisting of Fried Zucchini Flowers, Pear Salad, Oyster Cocktail, Homemade Crab Cake, Calamari Fritti, and Mista Salad. Our main entrees were Lasagna, Linguini Vongole, Beef Meatballs, and Penne Con Carciofi.
Complimentary bread started our meal. The food was expertly prepared to perfection. The ingredients used were fresh, and those flavors were familiar and comforting. The pastas were perfectly cooked, and the sauces were rich and delightful. Portions were spot on.
After our meal, the staff brought a complimentary pumpkin tartufo with a lit candle to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
The restaurant management made sure one felt at home, and the owners Nick and Nick would check on us periodically. Our server Juan Carlos was knowledgeable, attentive, and accommodating. The prices weren’t really for budget-sensitive patrons. Yet at the same time, they were quite reasonable, especially given the overall excellence of the dining experience.
If you haven’t been here, you should. If you have, then you need to come back again, and we can recommend this place.
Amarone Italian Restaurant in Teaneck is a must-try for anyone craving high-quality, authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting setting. My recent dinner here was a memorable culinary journey, with every dish shining in its own right.
We started with two excellent appetizers. The calamari was perfectly prepared—tender on the inside with a light, crisp exterior, demonstrating a masterful touch in the kitchen. Following that, the fresh bruschetta was vibrant and simple, featuring ripe, juicy tomatoes and fresh basil atop perfectly toasted bread, a true testament to the quality of their ingredients.
For the main course, the table sampled a wonderful variety. The Farfalle di Salmone was a creamy, savory hit, combining tender pasta with flaky, rich salmon in a well-balanced sauce. The Black Linguine Tuttemare was a stunning dish, featuring jet-black linguine loaded with a generous and fresh medley of seafood—a true taste of the ocean. For a classic favorite, the Chicken Parm was executed flawlessly: the chicken was pounded thin, breaded perfectly, and smothered in a rich, flavorful tomato sauce and high-quality mozzarella.
While all the savory dishes were superb, the evening’s clear champion arrived with dessert: the Pistachio Cheesecake. This is a dish that deserves a spotlight. If you visit Amarone, do not skip this incredible treat.
From the appetizers to the show-stopping dessert, Amarone Italian Restaurant offers a delicious and satisfying dining experience. The quality of ingredients, the execution of classic dishes, and the unforgettable pistachio cheesecake make this Teaneck spot a place I highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again.
A white tablecloth restaurant that makes me nostalgic of my many visits to Italy. The restaurant ambience is superb with an outdoor patio. It has a full bar.
The wait staff is outstanding .
The menu is short and sweet. There’s a separate menu of the day’s specials. The also a good wine list.
The Antipasti listings are shareable servings. The Grilled Calamari Special is particularly superb: tender, flavorful . The Caprese is screaming with fresh in-house mozzarella.
— Great pairing with a Gavi.
Great choices for pasta, meats and seafood. None of the awful American adulterations. I am partial to the Anitra Allá Gennaro: succulent half duck served with risotto and cranberry sauce .
— Great pairing with a Chianti Classico DOCG..
There’s a short lovely dessert menu. And. Fantastic Limoncello to finish off.
It’s a terrific dining.
