Well,I went to this restaurant as I had been to the sister restaurant Bombay on the beach ( BOB) at blackmans Bay.
I must admit the amaranta CBD has definitely disappointed me in comparison to BOB.
The food was good but not close to BOB.
The quantity served is an absolute disgrace for the price they charge. I understand it is the real estate that is causing the Bill. However the price does not justify the food taste neither the quantity.
Service was jus alright. Staff need to be pleasant. I felt like I was talking to a stone. Maybe she had a bad day or maybe its a cultural thing. No matter what the reason that cannot be the excuse in hospitality/retail industry .
Ambience : is jus alright. All the tables are right next to each other. Again it’s because of the real estate.Good music 5/5 for the music.
Would I recommend this restaurant to family and friends – definitely not.
I would rather drive to Bombay on the beach for 20 mins and be satisfied than settling for this crap.
3* from my side Amaranta.
The palak paneer stood out with its fresh, soft paneer and rich flavour, and the lamb was beautifully cooked — tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced. Overall, a great spot for delicious Indian food and creative cocktails in the heart of the city. Highly recommend!!
Kurkuri bhindi starter was tasty.
Murgh/chicken biryani was served beautifully , really nicely prepared, aromatic and tasteful.
Karnarak Jhinga is worth trying too.
Achari calamari could do with some more achari taste.
Tulsi/Basil paneer lacked infused flavours and anjeer basmati kheer needs an authentic Indian touch to make it hearty and tasting like figs.
Highly recommend it. Will definitely visit again.
Hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had! Amaranta delivers a premium, upmarket dining experience with warm, attentive service that truly stands out. We ordered the Palak Paneer, fresh naan bread, onion salad, and the samosa chaat — each dish was full of authentic flavor and beautifully presented. And the dessert was Absolutely to die for!
Hats off to the entire team — you’re doing an great job. Can’t wait to come back!
