I’ve visited Amar India Restaurant North twice, and both times the experience was excellent. The food is consistently flavorful, fresh, and truly authentic. Every dish is well-prepared with the right balance of spices, just like good Indian home-style cooking.
The menu offers a great variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The curries, biryanis, and freshly made naan are especially good. Consistency across visits is what really stands out.
The staff is friendly and welcoming, service is quick, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. It’s a great spot for family dining as well as casual meals.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Indian food. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

My first visit to Amar India was very positive. Service was prompt and friendly. I was particularly fond of the Garlic Nann, Tika Chicken Marsala, the Mushroom Lamb, and the Lamb Biryani. I am definitely keen try more menu items in the future.

3.5 stars for food, which was flavourful. Couple of dishes (Dal Makhani & Shahi Paneer) we tried were ok. Veg Pakora seemed a bit uncooked from inside. Call for spice level 5 if you’d like Indian hot. Portions are ok but expensive for the size (e.g., 20 bucks for 12oz Shahi Paneer is expensive). Will visit again if/when in town.

I had a very disappointing experience at Amar Indian Restaurant in Dayton, Ohio, and I feel compelled to share it.
From the moment we sat down, the service was rushed and impersonal. Our waiter seemed hurried and didn’t take the time to properly take our order, which led to an uneasy feeling. Most frustratingly, he asked us to pay our bill while we were still eating our meal. This felt disrespectful and made what should have been a relaxing dinner extremely uncomfortable.
Beyond the poor service, the food itself was a major letdown. The dishes we ordered didn’t taste authentic and fell far short of what good Indian cuisine should be. The flavors were off and didn’t reflect the quality or authenticity I’ve experienced at other Indian restaurants.
Overall, between the rushed, inattentive service and the subpar food quality, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are much better options in the area for anyone craving authentic Indian food with proper hospitality.

I originally was just going to have a beautiful lunch with a friend but the restaurant learned it was my birthday and celebrated it by giving me a dessert. I am not quite sure what it was but it seemed like rice pudding with a glazed donut hole in it. I appreciate the celebration and the gesture. Our meal was Aloo Gobi and Butter Chicken. The meal was very delicious. Rich our server was extremely nice and checked in with us periodically to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Thank you Rich for your excellent service.

I had a terrible experience at Amar india. The food was absolutely awful bland and poorly prepared. To make matters worse, I found a hair in my dish, which completely grossed me out. When I raised this issue with the staff, they were dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of addressing my concern, they insisted that I still pay for the meal. It’s unacceptable to pay for such a disappointing and unsanitary experience. I will definitely not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your time and money.
