Found this hidden gem on Google map, the food and drink choices were interesting, this place deserves a Michelin star for its quality and presentation, i was happy there weren’t that many poeple there as i was able to enjoy my meal there in peace but i think they deserve more recognition for their work. My first night out in San Jose I went to dinner at Amana. My waiter Luis (or Louis) was very helpful and attentive in helping me decide the dishes to have.
All of the items including the cocktail were a unique and satisfying combination of flavors. Hints of saltiness, spice, sweetness and earthiness came together in harmony.
The octopus was some of the best I ever had, absolutely perfectly charred and seasoned.
The staff even allowed me to try a dessert off their new menu. Would absolutely come back when in San Jose again.

My dining experience at Amana was truly exceptional! I had the Chef Table experience where you get a 5 course dinner with optional wine pairing. All items received are not available in the menu so every plate was a surprise with a perfect combination of flavors and textures. This goes in hand with the culinary concept of Amana which combines local ingredients with techniques from around the world giving each plate a unique flavor. The service is exceptional in addition to allowing interactions with the chef. I will definitely be going back to try their menu items!

Amana has provided us with a fantastic first night in San Jose! Dinner was delightful featuring locally sourced ingredients. Chef did an incredible job in blending unique flavours. The drinks are exceptional. Our waiter was patient and explained the menu in detail. Cannot wait to visit again!

Seriously? This place is fantastic. Some of the best food I have ever eaten. We happened to be here on Mother’s Day and so they had a limited menu but everything on it we ate was amazing. I had a local lamb that was perfectly seasoned and moist. The potato salad was a nice pallet break from the rich food. The sweet potato puree was next level. Sweet and spicy. Come here if you come to San Jose.

My partner and I came here for dinner and the food was amazing! Both of our plates were full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and innovative. We also got a non-alcoholic drink and it was delicious! We will definitely be back when we are in Costa Rica again.

Very creative and flavorful dishes! Bread and butter were amazing! The drinks are excellent! Agua sapo and a tamarind mezcalito! Salad with hummus spectacular! Rigatoni with goat cheese, bacon and peanuts delicious! The cas dessert was an incredible experience and exc coffee!! Will be back for their new menu. I also tries the octopus entree (didn’t like it, too fishy for my taste)

My friends and I did the tasting menu, and it was an amazing experience. A variety of different dishes were presented, and everything was scrumptious though we each had different favorites. You do have to reserve a minimum of 12 hours in advance.

What an amazing experience at Amana. The service was top notch, every dish was explained in detail by our server and the attention to our needs was second to none. The atmosphere was quaint and quiet, perfect for a date. And the food…. magnificent. So many different flavors, great Asian influences, and thoughtfully prepared to impress us in every way. I would recommend Amana to anybody that asks me where to dine in San Jose.
