What a pleasant surprise. From the moment we stepped inside we lived the experience. We received a warm welcome in a very nice spacious and well designed space with original Nepalese artwork.
The spicy beef starter was likely the best I have had in years. And all 3 mail courses, lamb chop, lamb stew and curry were exceptional. All flavors were created by some one who really knows their food and could easily be a Michelin star. Only for a fraction of the price. Thank you and we will make this place our go to whenever in Madison

Absolutely delicious! My group had the lamb palungo, broiled salmon, samosas, and some other menu items. The food was fresh, tender, and flavorful.
The service was fast, attentive, and hospitable.

We checked out Ama Kitchen after some friends hyped it up, and it did not disappoint. Our server, Logan, was super friendly and even pointed out a few menu items we probably would’ve missed. Everything he suggested was great, but the kabobs? Absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend!

We had an excellent Sunday brunch at Ama. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. We ordered the dosa available at that time of day on the menu, but we were hoping for just plain dosa with some chutney. We’d like to try the dinner menu in the future. We also prefer more spice, but understand that’s not always a preference for all patrons. I’d love to see more spicy options! The building was beautifully decorated and we loved the atmosphere. If we lived in the area, we would definitely frequent this place!

Everything was excellent. Eating at Ama makes clear the difference made by quality ingredients, engaged creative cooks and happy staff. Care clearly went into the food, each sauce had bright distinct flavor profiles, everything was plated beautifully, and our wait staff was playful and knowledgeable. Absolutely worth it. My only complaint is that I didn’t go to Ama sooner. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. You are greeted by the bar as you walk in and there are tables on the main level and upstairs. We sat upstairs (think Lazy Jane’s but quieter and more intimate). The service was excellent including wonderful suggestions to try the masala chicken which was tender (reminiscent of the curry chicken at Sala Thai) and the sauce was bursting with flavor. The samosas were crispy with delightful vegetarian insides. The chicken dumplings were also incredible. I was there for my birthday and they surprised me the house carrot cake for dessert. Lots of subtle flavor and a dark cherry sauce of the plate. Can’t wait to return

What a fantastic addition to this part of town and Williamson street. It’s backseat from the street so you have to look up into the alley before Taco Local to see it. Has indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating is huge and two levels. We opted to sit outside. Staff is laid back and friendly. Food was really good, better than what we expected. Prices are also reasonable. The green sauce for the salad was absolute magic, we wanted to drink it, bottle it.. it’s some kind of basil lemon sauce, don’t miss it. The chicken biryani was nice; chicken was a little dry but flavors were there. Dal was excellent. We had a side of roti – was hot and fresh. The lamb tikka kabob was lovely; good flavors and cooked right, tender. They do not have dessert; they said some days they might have it but it’s not consistent. A bottle of wine runs around $20-$25.. and their selection of a very good selection. I included a photo of the bill to give you an idea of price and final total. The place packed in quick. We didn’t make reservations, just walked up and got seated right away. This area needed this gem – hope it sticks around. Will definitely visit again. Go and enjoy!

We tried two appetizers (all 3 types of momos they had that night + haku chwela), all of which were amazing.
My partner ordered the lamb kebab, and I got the chicken tikka dish. His lamb was perfectly cooked, and my chicken was fall-apart tender. The sauces and veggies on the plates were delicious and fresh.
For dessert, we split a slice of carrot cake, but the almond cake they had on the menu sounded really good (unfortunately they were out).
The decor inside is modern and up market; it’s physically a very nice space.
I’ve been longing for higher end dining options from India/Pakistan/Nepal in town, and I’m very excited to see a place like this establish itself!
It’s a little recessed from the road which makes it sort of hard to find. That is the only criticism I can muster.

Hidden from the street, but absolutely worth a visit. The place is beautiful inside, and the terrace is pleasant. Food was great overall, good products and very well cooked, mostly with Indian vibes. Service was very nice.
