Incredible meal this evening – one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. The customer service was exceptional. We have been to many high end restaurants and very few are as attentive, friendly and welcoming as the team of cast members in Ama Ama. The setting is beautiful, looking out to panoramic views of the lagoon. Highly recommend booking an earlier 5pm meal as you get to enjoy the sunset in the background. Nothing was too much trouble – service was very smooth between courses, drinks constantly topped up and most importantly to us, was how friendly and welcoming the cast members were. Kapua had amazing energy and was so nice to chat to sharing stories! Ashton was so kind too and everyone really made us feel like we were the only table there. Trevor was super enthusiastic taking photos for us and the rest of the team were faultless.

Top fine dining experience in Disney Aulani. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing (they have 18 unique wines selected for each dish option of the menu) and didn’t regret it. On top of great food, wine and service, our dinner was accompanied by stunning sunset views and great live music.

Waiter was awesome but noticed he really liked to talk A LOT not only to us but everyone, view was awesome, but took about 3hrs to finish our experience. Good thing we didn’t have anywhere to be. Portions are really small, and very limited. One waitress made it a point when she brought my wife’s plate over, the waitress had to say all the things she didn’t like about my wife’s dish. Really discouraging. Ravioli was not very good kinda blah but the lobster was. The dessert was the best part. Tartare was good.

We are here last week and the food was good. The views at sunset are amazing and the wait staff was exceptional. I read that they used to do an a la carte menu and I think that would be better. I usually like to try multiple appetizers at a place like this. Overall, the food and wine pairing was on point and very good. This may have been the only place I wish I had not gone with the local catch plate, only because it was good but nothing special. The smoked fish appetizer was probably my favorite thing out of what anyone had at the table. The octopus risotto was excellent and perfectly cooked. I would have almost eaten every appetizer and starter and skipped the main course.

Truly one of the most disappointing dining experiences we have ever had. A $1,000 bill for the worst service we’ve ever received and mediocre food. I’ll preface with – we have been DVC members for 10+ years, have eaten at every restaurant in Disney and one of our party members was a server for 5 years.

Spectacular experience. Sat outside as sun set over the ocean and lagoon. Servers were attentive, professional and yet fun and relatable. Menu was an epicurean delight and the wine list was extensive as well as an offering to try wine pairing. We had a fabulous meal our entree was the lamb. Double chop cooked to perfection. Our salad was in green goddess and a delight for the palette. Dessert was Coconut Flan and chocolate mouse. Do not miss this venue. Chef Nicholas has a gift! His food is part local with a surprise of flavors coming from eclectic pairings. Do not miss!!!!!

Ama Ama is an unforgettable experience. We ate here several years ago when they had the steamed fish that was reminiscent of lau lau. It was hands down the best steamed fish either of us had ever eaten.

We’ve eaten here a few times, and the menu used to be a la carte. Now it’s gone Uber fru fru with a set course menu. That’s all fine, but it makes it difficult to eat what we want. We prefer the a la carte style. Work is divided into a captain, waiter, busperson set up. The meal was a bit tense at times because our waiter was leaning over our table getting too close to our food. He was breathing, spitting, and sweating way too close for comfort. Another issue was forgetting a drink we had requested to be timed with the arrival of a dish. When we tried to notify the staff, they were chatting and not paying attention. Then, that late glass of wine was charged at the full bottle opening price, even though that wine was part of the regular wine pairing menu. They’re shooting for a professional experience, but there’s a long way to go yet.
