I ordered a small plantain and griot. I do not know where the macaroni came from and did not want it. Maybe they ran out of what I ordered but it would have been nice to be warned before I got home because I told others what to expect and then could not deliver. This place is delicious for sure but sometimes not prepared for what they advertise and will assume you are okay with whatever they have. Also charged me an extra dollar for what I assume was their change in menu. Usually $16 but charged $17 today (cash).

This place is so The other day I got, Aly’s Restaurant, for lunch. I had got their Griot (Fried Pork) w/ White Rice, Sos Pwa, Pikliz, & Plantain. It was absolutely delicious. I also had their Lemonade to was it down. The Griot had some pieces that was a bit too fatty, but it was seasoned really well, and the sauce it came with was phenomenal! Their sos pwa is so damn good too. Great texture and flavor. It’s a great compliment with the sticky white rice. The pikliz was spicy as all heck, but it was an awesome addition to the meal. Not gonna lie, the Lemonade was fairly mid, but it has no impact on my total score. I’d HIGHLY recommend, Aly’s Restaurant, to anyone in the East Orange area and looking for some excellent Haitian Food. Their beef patty’s looked terrific as well too.

The food is decent but the service is terrible. I drive all the way from Pennsylvania to get Haitian food because they don’t have a Haitian food selection where I live. Every time I get to this restaurant I am pissed off. The people behind the counter they never smile and they don’t greet you when you come in and stand at the counter. They’ll stare at you for about 2 to 3 minutes and then walk over to you and ask you what the hell you want basically.
I’m never coming to the spot again until they teach the people behind the counter how to smile and make people feel welcomed when they are coming and patronizing your business. I’ve been to this restaurant to buy their food at least six or seven times and every single time the service is terrible. Today ends!!! I’ll find me a new Haitian restaurant around the area who appreciates people spending their money with them. It’s bad enough these Haitian restaurants be dirty and stinky yet we still support them and they can’t even appreciate us! Terrible

I ordered fritay from Aly’s Restaurant in E.O., and while I was excited to try it, I was disappointed with the chicken. It was extremely over-fried, making it tough and dry, and the skin still had a noticeable amount of feathers, which was off-putting. However, the rest of the meal was good. If the chicken had been better executed, this could have been a great experience. Hopefully, they pay more attention to quality control in the future.

Great food, Great Customer Service. I ordered catering from here for a party. We got fried chicken, turkey griot, and pork griot, black rice & brown rice. We ordered a large amount with short notice, and got excellent service, and delicious food. My family will continue to come back, and I highly recommend Aly’s Restaurant!!!
The food was a hit at my party, and everyone young and old continued to talk about how good the food was.
If you want excellent food, go visit Aly’s Restaurant! You will not regret it!

Update : food is still delicious, communication with the staff is starting to become poor. My last two visits was honestly disappointing.
