We thoroughly enjoyed not only the atmosphere but also the kind staff and exquisite food/drinks. This is an experience from start to finish. Highly recommend taking a walk around the restaurant before you leave. There are so many dining options and private rooms with unique views. Come prepared to enjoy the meal, do not expect to be in/out. We enjoyed the filet and New York strip with starters of Cesar salad and beef bone marrow. Thank you for a wonderful birthday celebration!

Exceptional service and hospitality by Jordan and Kevin, beyond belief cuisine by chef. Flavor meets presentation meets authenticity meets excellence.
We had a bone marrow (with mezcal luge after finishing) and oyster aluxfella to start, with tenderloin tacos and pork belly for mains.
5/5 all across, we’ll be back for more.

Absolutely incredible experience. The only issue is a lack of hand rails going down into the restaurant. I really hope they can add that soon!
Our server (Juan I think?) was lovely, so was everyone else who assisted throughout the night.
Drinks were lovely, food was immaculate and rich, and the ambiance is second to none. Absolutely take the time to visit this place for a special night out. There are private rooms strewn with rose petals available, but I get a sense that there isn’t much real privacy because people are often walking through the area to view the caverns.
We had our meal in the lounge area which was breathtaking, but the main restaurant offers a view of the cenote and nice water sounds and a view of the wine cellar.

The atmosphere went beyond five stars. When do you ever get to eat in a fancy cave restaurant?? The food and service were also sublime… From the presentation to the flavour. Great cocktails, great service. I would recommend spending the extra green to reserve one of the private dining rooms. You basically get a cave to yourself.

Alux was such an interesting experience! The cave was fascinating, the service was incredible, and the food was delicious. The only downside was that the portions felt relatively small for the price. We had four drinks (two alcoholic and two not) and four entrées, and it was more than $300 USD. All of it was delicious, but if we had known the portion sizes were going to be that small we would have also ordered appetizers. The shrimp risotto had the largest portion of the entrées that we ordered. The service was great though; our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable, and the other staff were there to help meet every need. It seems like a good place to celebrate a special occasion!

This is a must-visit restaurant! The views inside the cave are absolutely stunning, and you can even reserve your own private table for an extra special experience. The service was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive and made the evening feel seamless. The food and drinks were phenomenal and totally worth it! I loved every moment here. After your meal, you can explore the cave, which has several great photo opportunities. It’s truly a unique and memorable experience from start to finish.

Our server, Axel, oh my… he made the experience 10x better. He was so attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. When we couldn’t decide what to order, every single recommendation he made was absolutely delicious. We trusted him completely and he did not disappoint.
Simon also came over to greet us and he was the absolute sweetest. Both of them made us feel so welcomed and taken care of, and really elevated the entire experience.
The food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was perfect. I am so impressed and will 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting the Playa del Carmen area. A must-visit!
