It used to be better when there were more people serving on bar. Now there is just barely Shawn shouting while we were waiting for more beer but he does it with humor so we like it anyway. Give it a try. It’s a cool bar but minus a point for having to wait for another beer sometimes.

Didn’t feel welcomed. Unless you are a local or you’re friends with everyone they will not acknowledge you. I’m from out of town and the bartender didn’t seem to spark a conversation or care and it wasn’t busy so it’s not like she was in a rush to ask me how I’m doing or where I’m from simple bartending questions. I didn’t enjoy my self at all.

I’ve never felt more welcomed or at home as I did with this place. Such a wonderful establishment. Jodie was so much fun! And when I left, I realized that I forgot to give her my phone number! Dang it! I guess I gotta stop back next time I come through. I hope she thinks I’m cute. Wish me luck guys!

Been a while since I’ve been there so on the way home from Columbus I stopped in. Beer still $2 and on Thursday beer is $1 all day. You can’t beat this. If you go on Thursday take a driver with you. Only bad thing is now I have to change all my Columbus VA appointments to Thursday! Drink responsibility!

Not the best impressions. Took 10mins for the bartender to even acknowledge we were there (standing at the bar with money in hand) and even then got a “what do you want?” look. She took my money, got my change out of the drawer, asked someone what they wanted, then put my change in the tip bucket. I guess she assumed she did a good job. At least the patrons were nice. Not the best of bartenders, but oh well.

I hadn’t been in Alumni in years and decided to stop in for a drink. I ordered a corona and actually dropped it within seconds of ordering. The blonde bartender and brought me a new corona without asking. As a nice gesture I put $2 on the bar and her response with a rude attitude was “ uhhhhh that’s $4 dollars”. I then gave her a total of $6. It was a sour experience and don’t plan to ever come back.

Place is cool, staff was nice. Dollar beers on thursday. Music is AWFUL, and way too loud, have to shout across the table to have a conversation. Could just be tonight, though.
