I honestly felt like I’d stepped into an alternate universe at Altobeli’s. From start to finish, the experience was a complete disaster.
This restaurant used to be bustling—with good music, good food, and a lively atmosphere—but not anymore. I ordered a $30 pasta, waited an hour and a half for it, and ended up sending it back without eating a single bite. It was inedible.
To my shock, I later found out that the owner is both the entertainer and the chef. When I realized she was cooking the food, my mouth literally fell open. The piano player looked utterly depressed, as if mourning what was once a vibrant place.
This was supposed to be my 45th birthday dinner, and it was completely ruined. I walked out hungry. The kids were so hungry they ended up eating their (overpriced) kids’ pasta just to get through the evening.
I wish I had taken a photo of what was served—it was truly shocking that this place is still in business. Only four tables were occupied on s Friday evening , all by very elderly patrons who seemed to be there purely out of loyalty.
The three waiters on duty showed little to no interest in checking on us or providing service.
Overall, a heartbreaking downfall of what used to be a great restaurant. We won’t be back

I’ve been a customer of this restaurant for all of its 38 year history. We visited on Valentine’s Day, and at 8:30 PM the restaurant was only half full, perhaps less, now we know why.

Since the original owner sold the business a couple of years ago, the food quality has declined….dramatically. If you are seeing positive reviews on this restaurant, the people writing the reviews must be friends of the current owner and not reviewing an actual dining experience.

The problems were evident from the very start: the bar was under stocked and appeared to be missing very common brands. The dining experience was no better…the food quality and taste was absolutely terrible, not remotely close to the quality the original owner served. I had chicken parmesan and a caprese salad. I’m not a cook but I’m 100% sure I could have prepared a higher quality meal. The others in our group had the same experience. As a longtime patron, it pains me to say we won’t be returning.

My hope is that the current owner will sell to someone with restaurant expertise who can restore this landmark establishment. That may be its only chance for survival. I feel especially bad for the staff, particularly the incredibly talented piano player who has been there for many years.

We had been here previously and had a great experience, so we decided to come back after 5+ years this weekend. We were so disappointed. We had a table of 6 on a Saturday night at 7pm. It was fairly full when we got there, but right away we saw only 2 servers. We ordered apps, salads, and entrees as soon as the waiter came over. We waited over an HOUR to get our salads. The house salad had ONE slice of cucumber and ONE slice of tomato… We waited another 45 mins to get our entrees. After watching the other tables get huge plates of pasta, and taking home to go boxes, we were going to write off the long wait for a good meal. Once we got our plates, it was clear we had about 1/2 of the amount the rest of the tables were getting… I had the chicken piccata and my chicken was pre-cut (which was odd for a $29 dish), and the pasta was cut in smaller pieces as well. The sauce was very oily. Several members at our table had cold pasta and lukewarm protein. We didn’t end up leaving until almost 9:30 pm. The portions were very small for the price. The servers were very sweet and we could tell they were doing their best running around from table to table. Unfortunately, we will not be back and no longer recommend this place.

OMG❤️❤️I am so pleased my cousin introduced me to this spot! She stumbled across it a few years ago and she hadn’t stopped!!! The owner is just EVERYTHING!! She is so interactive and involved with every aspect of the experience. From the personalized visits to your table, the perfect drinks from the bar(there is no drink they will not make!) We enjoyed the benefit of the new bartender’s newly created drink and it was AWESOME! The live music and singers and the guests will also sing! And not karaoke!! Did I mention the owner tok the time to sing a few songs and a birthday serenade!❤️Now to the food!!!!! EVERYTHING WAS SOOO GOOD! All I can say is, you can feel the love in every single aspect of this restaurant! You will not be disappointed!!!

Altobeli’s Restaurant & Piano Bar — Where Dinner Turns Into a Party Your Tastebuds Never Want to Leave!

If you’re looking for more than “just dinner,” RUN (don’t walk) to Altobeli’s. This place is food + fun + live music + joy all wrapped into one delicious Italian night out.

The vibe?
Like stepping into an Italian supper party hosted by your wildly entertaining relatives — except you don’t have to do the dishes afterward. Live music, singing, laughter, clinking glasses… it’s dinner AND entertainment, and honestly, I’d buy a ticket to this show even if they didn’t feed me. But oh, do they feed you!

The food?
Authentic, comforting, drool-worthy ITALIAN perfection.
Every dish tastes like it was made by someone’s Nonna who loves you a little extra. Pasta cooked perfectly, sauces rich and dreamy, portions that will have you singing along with the piano before dessert even arrives.

And speaking of dessert… order it. All of it. Trust me.

The live performances just elevate the whole experience — you’re eating, you’re laughing, you’re humming along, and before you know it, you’re planning your next night out before you’ve even finished your meal.

Altobeli’s isn’t just dinner. It’s an experience. The kind that makes you smile days later, the kind you tell friends about, the kind that keeps you coming back like you’re part of the family.

Whether you’re there for a celebration, a date night, or “just because,” Altobeli’s will treat you to delicious food, delightful music, and a whole lot of Italian charm.

Come for the pasta, stay for the singing — and leave with a full belly and a happy heart! ❤️

This used to be our go-to spot within walking distance, and I’ve personally watched its quality decline—something clearly reflected in recent reviews. Our last visit was the final straw to stop us from visiting ever again.

We waited over 30 minutes only to learn our order never made it to the kitchen. After another 20+ minutes, the manager came over—not with an apology or treat, but with an unsolicited explanation. No acknowledgment, no gesture of goodwill. When the food finally arrived more than an hour later, my wife’s dish was stone cold, clearly sitting while my forgotten dish was prepared. We ended up packing the food untouched and leaving.

From a former loyal customer to management: mistakes happen. What matters is how you respond. A sincere apology or a small gesture—a drink, dessert, or even acknowledgment—would have gone a long way. Instead, we received justification.

I wasn’t going to post anything, but feel like this place has such potential. We come here every year for the holiday show. Amazing performers! This evening was such a disappointment. We had 6pm reservations, didn’t get our salads until someone who doesn’t even work there and was just “helping out a friend” came over and asked us if we had our salads close to 7:30. We were served watered-down iceberg lettuce and told they were out of bread. How does an Italian restaurant run out of bread? One member of my party was served her entree salad with shrimp that wasn’t fully cooked through. The sauce was for the spaghetti watery (I’m sure it was frozen) and the lasagna, and chicken parm were less than mediocre. The prices are outrageous for the poor quality of food being served. We were surrounded by tables with large parties who waited over three hours for their meals. The performance ended at 9 PM and many tables had still not received entrées!
I will not be back unless serous changes are made. Last, the restrooms smelled and the lock on 1 of 2 ladies stalls was broken. This place has some serious issues to fix.

I always love the atmosphere with the cherry wood and the piano. It has that New York Italian vibe. I love that the servers sing too. They should play music during intermission. I ordered the chicken Romano and it was a wee bit salty. My friend ordered the gorgonzala steak and honestly it’s not worth the money. Flavorless, small portion, and the veggies were over done. However, the snails have always been great and we tried the goat salad. The goat salad was AMAZING!! I would order it again!

The old school atmosphere was nice and reminded me of back home(NY). Service was good. The food was not great. The rolls were tough, the red sauce did not taste homemade. My husband did not like his chicken parm and that’s hard to mess up. The pasta has a weird briney taste to it. Kitchen needs an overhaul.
