Altitude Burgers – Why?

Why?
That’s honestly the only question that comes to my mind.

After several attractions, roller coasters, rides, and a long walk pushing my child’s stroller, you finally spot it: a bright, eye-catching sign. A very American-looking burger place. At that moment, you get excited. You imagine a juicy, tasty, classic American burger — exactly what you need to recharge.

Then reality hits.

You end up eating one of the worst burgers of your life.

It’s extremely frustrating, especially because I paid for the dining plan and, even worse, had to serve this food to my 6-year-old child. That makes the disappointment even bigger.

We’re talking about SeaWorld Orlando — one of the most famous theme parks in the United States, if not the most famous for many people. With all the investment, structure, and overall experience the park offers, it’s shocking to find such low-quality food.

The burger was bad, the wait was long, the line was ridiculous, and the whole experience was simply disappointing.

How does this happen?
How can a place with so much visibility and responsibility deliver such poor food quality?

This was, without exaggeration, the worst burger I’ve ever had — and in a location where you expect at least something decent.

Very disappointing.

This is a long one.
I know MANY reviews mention the food was bad. Is it as advertised? No, but I didn’t hate it.
What I did hate was the service. It should be called ATTITUDE BURGER.
Unfortunately the SeaWord app doesn’t show restaurant hours on the app. Google says it’s open at 9am. We asked some kind employees when it was open, in park employees said 10:30. We arrived at 10:40, it looked empty, We asked an employee, she assured us it was open and gestured for us to enter.
Inside the 3 employees were setting up the food. They seemed flustered and said they were not ready yet then asked us to wait. Okay no problem, we waited. Another family joins us in line. The employees then ask “are you going to order?!” we looked at one another surprised, I had thought they would announce when they were ready which we said calmly. One of the employees said “Oh we tried to tell you but you weren’t paying attention”. There’s no way, we stood maybe 3 feet from them? The employees were talking to one another but didn’t say anything to us. Nice try though.
My friend orders a Beyond Burger, an employee goes to make it. The cashier asks us to keep moving forward to pay. No problem. We pay and move out of the line so other patrons can check out. The man with the beyond burger returns, and asks what my friend wants on it. We are unable to return to the line as its single file and barricaded so he yells. I respond back for my friend “just the burger and cheese” and he gets so irritated. It’s not like he needs to put lettuce or tomato or pickles or condiments on. Those all come separate and we had already grabbed them. Please see the photos below 🙂
As she tried to make her way towards him to get her order another customer steps in her way. The employee then shouts in a NASTY tone “Why don’t you come get it then?!”.
And so without cursing or yelling I did respond to him, “there’s another customer in the way. What would you like us to do? Push her out of the way? Thank you.”
He had a whole attitude about it and I felt the younger female employee rushed to console him. Come on. I get it, food service sucks, working at theme park sucks, these people are underpaid and get yelled at on the daily but we did not deserve to be yelled at by this man. SHAME ON YOU. If you can’t handle being a customer facing employee please ask to be reassigned.

This was the $25 “Altitude Burger.” Dense overcooked meat, fatty floppy undercooked bacon, slimy greasy onion rings, a tough mozzarella stick on a squished bun. This was a $25 burger. Then the fries were undercooked, yay. This was a $25 burger.

1 meal, $25 burger (did I mention that yet?) + $6 drink + $9 slice of chocolate cake (which had watery frosting – WATERY FROSTING is something I never had to write in my life before this day) = $40 + tax + the 5% extra surcharge on EVERYTHING sold at Sea World.

Garbage food, insane price, deceptive if not outright fraudulent 5% surcharge. No creature, neither man nor beast should eat here. Sea World, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself.

I would rate it lower if I could, everything is so goddamn expensive. Tha atmosphere feels like falling into an endless time loop full of sad sweaty and weary individuals there is NO air conditioning and everything is 40 dollars the service was abysmal with the drink lady glaring at you for her job which is pressing a button also we didn’t even get a top for our cups no seating out here and it’s hot as hell also did I mention everything is 40 dollars this pudding cup I got was EIGHT WHOLE. DOLLARS..AND IT TASTES LIKE AN ARMPIT! “Everything is served with lettuce tomato and our signature altitude sauce” BS bc if it was THERE WOULD BE GREEN IN THAT LUNCH LINE there is no vegetables there is no hope there is no love fun or care the burger patty tasted like PURE GARLIC POWDER. ALSO NOBODY KNOWS HOW TO WALK AS SOON AS YOU GET IN

I deeply regret waiting 45 minutes for the worst burger I can remember eating! It was overpriced, over salted, and overcooked. Cheese was not melted, bacon was burnt, and meat did not taste like real beef. For $22.95 I got 2 thin meat patties, stale roll, cold cheese, burnt bacon, no lettuce, tomato, or pickle as advertised, and standard fries. No drink included in that price. The order process involved yelling over the cook line and grabbing your own food from an assembly line as your pushed along. It reminded me of my high school cafeteria. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Sad, Sad little burger. I don’t think McDonalds has a burger this sad. The menu item… “bacon cheeseburger” with a side of fries, a fountain soda and a terrible Oreo cupcake totaling $36. Fries were the best thing about the meal. It was the most pitiful burger I’ve ever had, really…. A McDonald’s cheap cheeseburger at 1:00am looks like a steak dinner compared to Altitude Burgers “Bacon Cheeseburger” at SeaWorld. I’m surprised at just how bad it was, awestruck really. I would assume it starts as a 1.6 oz beef patty (pre-cooked weight)… Haphazardly slopped between a top and bottom bun that could work part-time as a cardboard cereal box. Add in a toss of cheap, pre-chopped iceberg lettuce, a tomato slice that went bad last week, topped off with a slice of cheese that is reminiscent of yellow candle wax. The fries were good, steakhouse style cut and texture with a nice zingy seasoning. The cupcake…. Tastes like the definition of the word artificial. I thought to myself “I wonder what concoction they put together to create this “icing.” I would assume it is purely a mix of synthetic materials blended together in a lab to imitate, imitation cake icing. Walmart (I’m assuming) would have better cupcakes on their bakery shelves. I’m not certain if SeaWorld is aware of how absolutely depressing the food is from Altitude Burger is or if they just don’t care. But they should certainly step in and shut it down or bring it up to par.

I visited Altitude Burger at SeaWorld Orlando on February 8, 2026, around 1:20–1:40 PM, and the cashier added a tip of about $12 without my consent. That is unacceptable. Tips are optional and must be approved by the customer. No one should be charging themselves extra.

Management: please review the transaction and camera footage for that time window and fix this immediately. I’m requesting a refund of the unauthorized tip and a clear explanation of how this happened.

Absolutely horrible experience. Staff working mega slow (except the manager), line is huge simply because to put food on the tray takes 38 minutes. Time in line 22 minutes, time to pickup my food 38 minutes. Everything is messy, stuff is yelling and not friendly.

Unfortunately this has been our worst dining experience at Sea World. There was no line and we figured it would be a quick stop, but the service was still actually quite slow. The worst part is the food was bad. The burger was dry and way overcooked. Saying it was well done would be putting it nicely. I would absolutely skip this location in the future since there are far better options elsewhere in the park.
