Our favorite restaurant! The tacos are delicious and our favorite side dish is the papa brava. Our kids love the food as well and they are picky eaters. Our host was Ana and she was amazing! We highly recommend this restaurant!!

Cozy restaurant with top notch service and amazing food and drinks. Stopped in before the Christkindle Market and decorated super cute for the holidays. Lots of options for sharables. Fresh, fresh, fresh! We loved the Paella and I really enjoyed my cocktail – an Al Pepino.

The food is always divine. We personally love the Papas Brava and get it every time. Our server this time was Emmanuel, and he was so attentive and fun. It’s always better when it feels like you’re dining with a bonus friend.

The place has a very cool atmosphere. Great, friendly staff! I ordered a chicken sandwich and would not recommend it at all. It was all bread/sauce/coleslaw and no meat. The fries are shoe string fries, which are not my favorite, but they were nice and crispy and perfectly salted. My husband got the shrimp and loved his meal. The rice paper bowl was a cool touch to his meal. All of the meals around us looked delicious. I just wouldn’t order the chicken here again, but I also don’t think that’s what they specialize in either! Seafood seems to be their niche.
We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, and they were the best mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had!
We also ordered dessert. Chocolate chip cookies and ice cream. It was good. Ice cream was better than the cookies.
If you love seafood, you will love this cozy, modern, friendly restaurant!

Really cute place in Wheaton! We went in for lunch on a Tuesday and it was really nice and not too busy – which is just we were looking for.
The poblano soup was AMAZING! Very smoky and creamy and balanced. It came with the El Fundido shrimp combo. We also had the elite starter which was also a big hit.
Overall, the experience was great at a very decent price point. Do check it out!

This place is amazing! Delicious food and drinks, superb service, lovely atmosphere! We chose it because it is just down the street from the Paramount theater where we had play tickets. We tried the Ala Sangrona margarita, which was delicious. For dinner we had the Altiro and the Al CamaLeon tacos which were so flavorful and delightful. Then we topped it off by sharing a churros for dessert. Yum! The service was likely the best I’ve ever had. It was a great experience and I will definitely go back again. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for dinner before a show. Very minimal things kept this from a 5 star. The chicken was a bit dry, the tri guac was really the same guac with different stuff sprinkled on top, apps came out before the drinks. On the other side everyone on the staff was very nice and the cocktails were awesome!

I recently had a fantastic experience at Altiro in downtown Aurora! Their happy hour is a must-try, running from 3 to 6 PM, and I can’t recommend their strawberry margaritas enough – they are refreshing and perfectly balanced. For just $10, you can also indulge in their delicious Al Elotito, which is a delightful twist on classic flavors.
For my entree, I always go for the salmon tacos. They are simply divine! The salmon is cooked to perfection, and the toppings complement it beautifully. Whether you’re there for happy hour or a full meal, Altiro never disappoints. I can’t wait to return!

We stopped in for a quick bite before a show at the Paramount Theater, and Altiro absolutely delivered! Despite not having a reservation, they happily accommodated us—such a gracious welcome.
We mentioned that we were on a time crunch and wanted bold, flavor-packed dishes that could be prepared quickly. Our server was incredible—she immediately offered spot-on recommendations for both food and drinks, ensuring we got the best of what Altiro had to offer without feeling rushed.
Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the drinks were perfectly crafted. The service was not only efficient but also warm and thoughtful, making us feel truly valued as guests. The atmosphere was inviting, with stylish décor and a cozy, intimate feel that made the experience even more enjoyable.
If you’re in Aurora, whether for a night out or just craving an outstanding meal, Altiro is an absolute must-visit. We can’t wait to return!

Walked in to a basically empty restaurant at 2:30 on Valentine’s Day. Host mentioned having a lot of reservations that day and we’d have to be out but 3:15 at the latest. Should have walked away at that but stayed to enjoy a quick lunch. The elotes was spoiled or improperly made, had to send back. One order was not wrung in right, had to wait awhile longer. Our server was “new” so we were patient and understanding. We enjoyed everything else, and had checked out on time. The KICKER about 4:30 on our way home for the day, we drove past to a still empty restaurant…disappointed that they basically tried to turn us away at the door and then rushed us through a sub par lunch for no reason. This was a complete 180 from the 1st time we visited, and unfortunately was a turn off for future visits.
