The food was incredible and the ambient lighting created a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. It’s great for groups of all sizes, whether you’re with friends or a date, and the waitstaff did a wonderful job checking in on us throughout the meal!

went last night (12/23, 8PMish) and i must say it may be my greatest dining experience of all time. the atmosphere was so dreamy and both our server and food runner were cool, kind, and lovely! the smoked potatoes are a MUST – my boyfriend doesn’t even like cabbage and he was scraping it off the plate. my calamari was phenomenal and unique – it’s never been served to me like this and it was out of this world. they even offer ribs by the piece, which is creative to even have of course i ordered one. and my drink was unlike anything i’d ever had before, october moon! i can’t wait to come back here someday. incredible.

The vibe is great, very cozy lighting and the decor and music are really nice! I sat at the bar to grab a solo dinner and a drink, and it was perfect! I started with the caesar salad with anchovies and finished with a beautiful swordfish dish that was delicious! The staff was nice and attentive! I highly recommend this place!

Amazing ambience at this place and our waiter (I forgot their name but worked on 7/27) was very hospitable.
Some dishes were very good like the salmon crudo. My crab pasta was good but too salty and the special turkey hash was much more turkey than hash. The cocktails however were VERY delicious.

Totally feels like a date night! The interior is dimly lit, well-decorated and exudes a cozy atmosphere. We came in on a Sunday evening with no reservation but were seated immediately. My boyfriend loved the 60s music they were playing all evening.
Ordered the Brussels sprouts which were super crispy and well-seasoned. Then we each got the brisket burgers! The burgers were tender and juicy but my only gripe is that the waiter didn’t ask us how we wanted our burgers. (Would have liked medium rare instead of medium)
Overall, would come back for an easy, quiet and quick date night or just drinks with friends

Spectacular! I took some family from out of town here for their anniversary and they couldn’t stop raving about it! We sat inside & the decor was simple yet upscale and the outdoor seating area looked cool. We loved everything that came to the table. Healthy portions and reasonable prices. Can’t wait to go again.

What an amazing hidden gem. The decor is amazing, topped only by the incredible food and drinks. The smoked potatoes, beets, corn chowder and chicken were world class. The atmosphere at Althea is so cozy and on point. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. A great restaurant for a date night, a friends’ night or even just a drink. This is the perfect Cambridge neighborhood restaurant. The owners have really built something wonderful at Althea!!!!

TERRIBLE COCKTAIL (not that but like not worth).
The service was OK but they are forgetful. They didn’t serve water nor remember a few things.
I would say the bigger problem are the cooks, a lot of the food has too much oil and charge to the point that it was bitter for the fish, brussels sprouts, and asparagus.
Although the dine out Boston meal option looks nice, I sadly didn’t have a good time eating there
I would say the bigger scan is the cocktails, they are like 150 mL for $16, and they were not good, not made from real ingredients for a few of them. I got the strawberry daiquiri, and I also tried the orange blossom , which had a smoke flavor, but also bit artificial. More so, the presentation was disappointing

I went to Althea twice in the last 3 weeks. The Smokey corn chowder is amazing. Also had the shrimp and grits which has a beautiful, slightly spicy and extremely flavorful sauce. On another visit we had the smoked chicken dish which is amazing and I had the warm beet salad. We also had the swordfish and beef brisket dishes and both were delicious!! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the specialty cocktails were great as was the service. One of the nights there was a band playing out on the back patio which was really fun. We’ll definately be back!
