A visit to Al’s place is something you remember and wish to return to again and again. The bar offers a truly unique atmosphere with good simple bar food and a friendly casual staff that makes you feel like a local regular patron. Set in Locke, the historic landmark village founded by Chinese immigrants, Al’s is truly unique place. A weekend get away to this part of the Delta is peaceful yet memorable adventure. There are lovely historic overnight accommodations available in Airbnbs just steps away from Al’s or the Miyasaki Bathhouse a 15 minute walk away in Walnut Grove. I highly recommend a visiting this area of the delta and visiting the art galleries, antique stores and other unique businesses in the area from Rio Vista and Isleton to Walnut Grove and Locke, this area is like stepping back in time 100 years

Love this place!! I have been coming here since i was a kid forty plus years ago. It has an awesome bar, with money on the ceiling and while they used to only sell steak sandwiches, they now have a menu with a large variety of items. The prices are a bit high but where aren’t prices high these days? The service was top notch and that is something you do not get at most places these days. Definitely worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed by the food or the overall experience.

Food and bartender were great. We can’t wait to go back for the steak sandwich. We highly recommend the garlic tossed tater tots.

You gotta love the old school vibes in this place. Food is 4/5. Parking kinda sucks sometimes. Make a day trip and enjoy the area

Al’s is a old time dive bar in the heart of the Delta. You come here to see the history, hear some stories, and have some refreshments. Also, didn’t forget to try the legendary peanut butter and peppers. Sounds weird, but it really works well.
The food here is good, the vibe is friendly, and kids enjoy the sit down area.
Old school charm and friendly people will have you coming back for more.

Dive bar with excellent food. Parking is a little dicey but this place is worth the bet. My daughters took me out for my birthday. One had the shrimp, fish & chips. We all had a bite of the others meals. The fish and the shrimp was top notch. Crispy, flavorful and hot. My other daughter and I shared a ribeye steak meal. Plenty big for the two of us. Melted in the mouth. The sweet potato fries were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic! Tangy and just the right texture. Definitely will return.

A wonderful historic restaurant/bar along the delta that serves up food so good that you can taste that love that went in to it. My wedge salad was crisp and fresh, and the buffalo chicken sandwich was mouth watering. Oh, and the beer was cold too. I will be back!

Funky old dive that’s been around for decades. I remember going with my parents in the 70s. Great burger. Garlic fries were loaded with garlic. If you want peanut butter for your garlic bread or steak, you have to ask for it now.

I wanted to give this place a 5 simply because of it’s unique character. However, over an hour wait for our meal and then errors made in what we were delivered did undermine the experience. That being said, management did comp something on the bill to amend the situation. Folks there were really great, customers and staff alike. I will definitely give it another try and modify my review at the time if deemed appropriate.

Fine for what it was…good food with large portions though! Bread especially, and the homemade peanut butter (homemade PBJ came with my salad) and the delicious BLT! I’d come here again if I was already in the area. Good garlic fries
