Al’s Grill is the kind of spot that reminds me of the midwest middle of nowhere breakfast spot. The food hits the mark hearty, flavorful, and served hot. I had the Al’s Skillet breakfast, crispy potatoes, meaty , fresh veggies, and perfectly cooked sunnyside up eggs on top. It’s the kind of breakfast that sets the tone for a great day. My coffee was just right.
But what really made the experience stand out was the service. Kathy, my waitress, was incredibly attentive checking in several times to make sure everything was good and that I felt taken care of. Her kindness and professionalism added a personal touch that made the whole visit feel like home.
If you’re in Oak Park and craving a solid meal with genuine hospitality, Al’s Grill is the place for really good breakfast.

Portion size to price ratio is amazing. You get so much food for like $15 bucks. Food is absolutely delicious and well worth it. Love the staff who are always friendly and are quick to correct mistakes without being rude. We only go for special occasions but every time, it’s always a great experience.

I was in town on business and my girlfriend recommended this place. I am so glad that I took her advice. The banana bliss French toast was so divine. I got a two egg breakfast as well which was delicious with the best bacon I have had in a while. I will definitely be back to this place on my next visit.

Great atmosphere, cafe energy at it’s best. I had the pork dinner. It was a little on the dry/tough side, the gravy helped but it didn’t fully mask the flaws. My guest had a burger and fries, which they absolutely enjoyed. The service was very good, friendly, fast, you can tell the people that work there have good energy and were welcoming and fun. I will definitely be back as they have a lot of other options I want to try: skillets, burgers, etc I finished my whole meal and side of bacon, so don’t let the dry/tough comment scare you. It wasn’t so bad that I complained or sent it back, it just wasn’t tender, moist, and juicy like I imagined it would be. They also have good fresh coffee.

It’s been 30 years since I’ve been coming here. I found them when I was in high school and moved to Oak Park when they had the little hole in the wall across the street. I love this place! They probably think im a little weird because I sit at the counter and scarf my food down in 20 minutes. I adore this place and everyone is super sweet!

Nice little place. The food tasted pretty good. The service is pretty fast. The waitress is very nice. The skillet was really good I had to order it without the veggies but really good. Pancakes were alright nothing to special but good.

I went to visit my dad at the assisted living building across the street & planned on treating him to lunch but he’d already eaten. Nothing wrong with treating myself tho I sat by myself outside & mostly stayed off my phone. It was a nice day out, sunny but with a breeze going. I ordered a Diet Coke with the patty melt deluxe. The food was tasty, the service was prompt & friendly, & the price was decent.

The food and service is always good. Anytime my family comes to town Also Grill is the 1st stop they make for breakfast. The food is Delicious and they have excellent grits, pancakes, French toast, bacon etc…

Just moved to the area and tried this place. Ordered and the waitress was nice enough and received my food. I noticed that everyone was running around busy doing work because they were closing soon and she was just sitting at a booth on her phone. Another employee told her she should start working and she sharply replied in Spanish “I know how to do my own work”. Everything she would serve someone she went right back to being on her phone. I heard her apologizing to another customer because she apparently walked off with his card and didn’t bring it back for a while.
I was ready to pay and had my card sitting in the bill folder hanging off the edge of the table and she walked passed it like 10 times and went back to her phone!! I had to speak up and say I was ready to pay. She looked up and off her phone to finally take my payment from the table.
I would be annoyed if this was my coworker glued to her phone this badly.
Food was OK, nothing amazing but not bad, but seeing how distracted this server was is definitely a bad look.
