Been coming here for years and this is still my favorite bar! I’ve met many good people here that I’m proud to call my good friends! Frances and Shawn are truly the best!

As a dive bar kinda guy, this place really resonates with me. Love that the pours are good (Sara at least) and cheap – $5 for a well whiskey sour or a full pour of wine, $7 for call whiskey rocks. Cash only which is OK, just know ahead of time. And went there last night with my daughter for a quick drink before dinner – loud, obnoxious drunk group of sketchy dudes in the booth beside us. Lots of cussing and vulgarity which is fine with me but it was loud enough to be distracting and the bartender didn’t really do or say anything to them, which may have been uncomfortable and awkward so I get it.

Fun little quaint dive bar. Honestly a good place to sit down and catch up with a friend, as it seems to be far from more popular places like downtown Alhambra. Be prepared to bring cash as it does not take card. Bartenders are modest and crowd was pretty quiet for a Saturday night. A couple food spots down the road and a domino’s next door in case you get hungry, which I’m sure people have ordered and brought in.

Chill atmosphere, and probably the only place in Alhambra with an electronic dart board. I recommend this place if you just want to throw some darts and relax.

I went here last night and the bartender was very rude. It was my third time being here, and as soon as I sat down I happily recognized the bartender and greeted her with a smile. I think her name is Frances or Francesca or something…white girl with plugs and glasses…she rudely said ‘oh yes, I remember you, it was not a pleasant experience last time,’ Iwas caught off guard and embarrassed because she said it in front of my friend’s boyfriend, then said “what do you want,’ I didn’t order anything because I felt uncomfortable and ended up leaving. I serve and bartend and would never greet a guest like that, and definitely would not want to stay for a drink after that. I won’t be back. She could have pulled me aside and explained what happened last time and simply ask that it doesn’t happen again (I have no idea why the last time wasn’t pleasant). The last time I went there a older woman helped me out and she was so sweet! But either way how awkward, there’s plenty of bars I can go to without feeling embarrassed or uncomfortable. Good luck!

Nice people, Moes Tavern vibes. I loved it. The entire place smells like a toilet, there are photographs of friend groups past all over the walls, great drinks. The place has mojo, heavy energy. This is a gem and I hope it never changes.

Love your pop/rap music selection, and very reasonably priced drinks (I only ordered a rum/coke (5 USD) and a LIIT (10 USD) but…) it was still cool. Note it is pay as you go AND cash only, aka no tab.
Got to eat my domino’s pizza dinner at the bar top, Mojitos not offered but this local joint will be a returning hang out for me. Service was good. Enjoy 🙂

Al’s is a North San Gabriel institution. It’s located in my old neighborhood where I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s, and still serves locals in a friendly and generous manner. It was great to spend an enjoyable evening there when I was “back in town.”
