Very lovely place! Staff were very nice and the food was very good! Nice little bakery inside. Not too much light. But a very nice atmosphere. I would recommend it! Gluten free items too!

We visited this place during the Tulip Festival and it was pretty good. We weren’t able to eat in the restaurant, there was a several hour wait, so we grabbed a sandwiches, soup, and a dessert from the cafe area (I got a Key Lime mini tart, which was so good). The quality of the food was good and the place was pretty cute, like most things in downtown Holland. I would like to go back and try the restaurant, especially since the cafe was good. Make sure to call ahead for reservations if you are going to visit during the festival.

An elegant, decorated venue with historic ambiance. The Sunday brunch had a nice variety of options with meats, seafood, and vegetables, along with fruit, desserts, and a salad bar. It seems like an ideal place to reserve a room for dinner events.

Great space for meetings, and smaller events! We had our after wedding celebration there years ago and it is still the great location we choose it for.
Went for the Sunday brunch and they have the best waffles and scrambled eggs!

Food was amazing, but the staff left a little something to be desired. Snotty attitudes with mediocre ambiance. Service was slow and although food was good, it was overpriced.

Absolutely marvelous! Brought us back to our trip through Europe. The menu was fantastic. The beers delicious! The atmosphere… So great! The best hidden gem in Holland! You definitely need to try this place out!

The addition „Konditorei“ suggests a much better cake or tart quality than normal. It doesn’t live up to this promise. Even the Olive Garden Restaurant chain offers a better tart quality. The coffee is mediocre as well, too weak perhaps old beans used or ground too coarse. Just the personell deserves the stars as they are very friendly.

The ambiance of Alpen Rose is a wonderful old world charm right in the heart of downtown Holland. I am mushroom fan and was very interested in their mushroom heavy fare. I started with the Forrest Mushroom soup and was not disappointed. A very healthy portion of mixed mushrooms in every bite offset with a sweet cream mushroom broth. A perfect entry point for the Jager Schnitzel that was next.
I am a vegetable fan. I usually go for the vegetables first with any meal and I was pleasantly surprised with the red cabbage that greeted me with what I suspect is a sweet apple vinaigrette. A very refreshing contrast to the mushrooms and earthy sauce on the Schnitzel.
To book end the meal I went with the apple strudel alamode and Carmel sauce. It was a nice mix of apples and cinnamon accented with just enough raisins to give the occasional pop in your mouth.
Overall I enjoyed my dining experience at Alpen Rose. I was raised on German and Croatian food by my grandmother and this was like a walk down memory lane.
