I love the vibe of this place! They have plenty of outdoor seating with clean restrooms. The chicken is amazing with a choice of two sides.

The food is fall off the bone good. It’s cooked and seasoned just perfectly. But the staff are the true gem here. I didn’t know there was an alpaca so close to my work so I came in randomly. The guy who helped me answered questions. Was super knowledgeable and kind. Then the lady who helped me w sides, also sweet and the guy who checked me out. Super friendly. I’m so dang impressed with this place

Wow, this is THE BEST Peruvian chicken I have come across. Passing thru Durham and stopped by. You won’t regret anything you chose. The chicken was awesomely seasoned and so tender it fell of the bones, the french fries were very large and perfectly fried, the maduros were so delicious sweet. The tortillas were well made and served hot. I hope to come back thru and try their other selections.

Delicious food but why have prices gone up 33% in two years.
I got the daily special and after tax it was $15. I will say that the portions were larger here than similar style restaurants I’ve been to around town.
You can tell the food is made fresh and it’s not processed.
Downgraded a star because you have to opt out of a tip at the kiosk when you buy. Social pressure tips is no good.

I only gave service three stars because I went in and said I need two whole chickens. They said oh it comes with such and such and I didn’t realized till I got to my house that oh my God I just paid $110 for two tiny chickens. Alpaca is amazing but it was not worth it. This was something I was told to pick up for Thanksgiving by my wife. We never touched the sides. Hell we didn’t even eat but one of the chickens and we spent more on the chicken than we did the turkey. Anyway, I just wish I would have got the two chickens. I think my price would have been much better. I’m going to check when I go in there next time. I am taking the blame also. I should have recognized. I was being upsold but it was a fast moving line and I really didn’t know what the hell was going on.

South Square Mayfair had superb service and food quality on today, 3/2/25. Jessica and Emily were very helpful, along with all the staff there. They assisted my family with celebrating our little one’s 4th birthday. Everything was a success, and our guests couldn’t get enough of their delicious food. We’ll be back for sure!

Food is always hot and fresh at this location. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the cashiers aren’t very friendly nor did they make you feel welcomed. I was the only one who ended up saying thank you ♀️ Customer service is still important, especially when someone is spending money at your establishment.
