Racist to anyone outside of their cultural norms. Laughed because we couldn’t speak Spanish (staff and patrons). Wanted to pay via debit and they laughed (staff and patrons) when I said I had card and not cash. First time there and last time there. Would have loved some real ethnic food, but the service was horrible. Glad I don’t know what they were saying as they laughed and let that be between them and God!

We stopped in for dinner & drinks at the end of our first day of a 2-day drive. We have not had good experiences with big chains in this area and were looking for a meal that actually tasted good and had good ingredients. This place had it! The food was phenomenal and the proprietors are incredibly sweet and accommodating. The grilled steak plate with peppers, plantains, beans & rice was big enough for my husband & me to share. Yum!

Bottom line up front: good food, nice lady running the place, loud music, reasonable price. Take the chance, but only open Friday-Sunday.

I’ve driven past many times and finally decided to give Honduran food a try. The nice lady that ran the place made some suggestions. We tried to resist the tacos. Being dumb Americans we thought we’d already eaten tacos before. SURPRISE! They’re not the same. I mean, yeah, there’s meat and stuff inside a shell, but it’s more like if a cannoli lived a good life and was rewarded with reincarnation as a dinner instead of dessert.

Be careful if you’re an horchata drinker at your local Mexican joint. This version was STRONGLY alcoholic. The wife would not have been capable of driving afterwards, so it’s a good thing I was the one with keys. She has no idea what it was spiked with, but it was smooth and tasty. And cheap!

The price was pretty reasonable. It’s not bargain basement, but it was fair. The horchata was only about $4.50, which considering the amount of alcohol was extremely cheap. The atmosphere was better than lunch stand but pretty basic. The music was pretty loud.

Obviously, if you’re Honduran or have familiarity with Honduran food then you know what to order. But if you’re reading my review then I’m guessing you’re not. Throw yourself on the mercy of the lady running the place. Just tell her you’re new to Honduran food and go with her suggestions. Bring friends, order several different things, and share. Just make sure to bring a designated driver.

By far the worst restaurant experience in my 33 years of life. I went there yesterday for a meal with my wife and three kids. The order was wrong, but we didn’t complain about that. We are not confrontational people when it comes to stuff like that.

We ordered two $9 plates and side order of rice and beans for the kids, they are small and also share with us. We ordered water like we always do. The bill came back at $35. I asked for a summary of the costs because it was about $10- $15 more than I expected. It turns out I was charged $10 for the rice and beans and $2 for the glasses of water. At that point the owner came over and asked if everything was alright. I showed her the bill and she said that she would take care of it… She shifted the numbers around (lowering the price of the rice and beans and raising the waters to $4).

At that point I said I would gladly pay for the rest even though the prices were still above menu price but I would not pay for the waters. Then the owner’s husband began to yell at me from across the restaurant. He told me to “get out and take your money with you I don’t need it” and was insulted several times in Spanish (which my wife and I speak). At that point I insisted on paying for the whole bill but he just continued to yell and tell me to leave and never come back.

Fine… I picked up my children and walked outside. I was followed into the parking lot by the two who said they were going to call the police on me for not paying the bill. I reminded them that they told me to get out and keep my money. Apparently they did want and need my money. I paid for everything and explained to them that I have never in all my life been treated like that in a place of business, in front of my wife and children no less.

Shame on this restaurant. Besides the poor food and very dirty premises I and my family were harassed and insulted. Please avoid this place like the plague.
