It was an amazing experience ! Kid-friendly, so cutely decorated! The service was AMAZING! The coffee or teas may take a bit to make but WELL-WORTH the wait. We got a few different entrees, and beverages ! Will continue to go back as often as we can! Also if you give them the parking ticket they will credit it so FREE PARKING ! Zero complaints !

The atmosphere/ vibe was on point for the holidays. I recommend them for that alone. The menu was varied we had the birria nachos and they were a 4 out of 5 only because of the cheese I’m not the biggest fan of the liquid cheese stuff and they lacked guacamole on the you had to order guacamole salsa on the side. The drinks were good, well at least the second one was. We initially ordered the grinch which we didn’t really realize it would have that weird licorice flavor even though it said schnapps in the description (totally our fault) but we did not like it, one sip and e asked if we could get something else so they made us a similar drink with midori. Much much better, but this is were opinions will differ…. they ended up charging us for both…I get it, we ordered it so there’s a cost to the establishment so I dint mind paying it, but it seemed like bad customer service to me… like I said opinions will vary, but I would assume like in other restaurants that they would not have charged since we didn’t like it, a happy customer is areturn customer and the lost revenue on one drink will be made up. I don’t know, that was really the only bad thing. The menu did look good so check them out and make your own opinion that’s why I gave a 4 star.

After almost 12 hours of waiting for the spouse who was at an appointment in Waterfront Plaza, I needed some F&B fuel.
ATMOSPHERE:
The otherwise ho-hum vibe was brightened by the live entertainment at the neighboring Row Bar. But, Aloha Mamacitas went all out on their Halloween decor as well as a fun drink menu that included a “Dracula’s Blood Bag” which was a whiskey-based, red-hued drink served in an IV bag.
MENU:
A mishmash of Mexican, Thai and local Hawaiian dishes. No burritos.
BEVERAGE:
Lychee Spritz
Damn, this was delish! It tasted like a fizzy mai tai, with sweet and creamy notes, garnished with a whole lychee. I definitely would’ve ordered another if I didn’t have to leave! Highly recommended.
FOOD:
Birria Nachos
I was so excited at the mention of “birria”, I failed to read that the dish included nacho cheese (in addition to real cheese). While not a deal breaker, the use of entirely real cheese would’ve made this a 5-star experience. The shredded beef was moist and intensely infused with textbook birria flavors. I wished guac and olives came with, but only jalapeños were included.
SERVICE:
I was greeted by a friendly gal who turned out to be my server. Everyone was great.
OVERALL:
That lychee spritz is still on my mind…

We got some birria tacos and some drinks from the buy one get one sale. The tacos were soooo good as always, and the drinks were very sweet but good regardless (got the banana matcha einspanner and ube Vietnamese coffee). I liked the chunks of cookies and subtle banana taste in the matcha. My only complaint was it was literally empty with a few customers seated here and there but they wouldn’t let us sit down and enjoy our food and drinks. We moved as they told us to, but we would have moved anyway if it seemed like more customers were coming. Idk they probably have it that way for a reason and there’s a lot of outdoor seating. But it would have been nice to enjoy the halloween decorations and ambience inside.

Aloha Mamacita, you’ve officially ruined me for all other chicken tacos. I came, I devoured, I forgot to take a photo until the plate was embarrassingly spotless, but that’s just proof of how insanely good they were. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, with just the right kick, and wrapped in tortillas that somehow tasted like vacation.
And let’s talk about the Halloween drink menu; a spooky lineup of martinis that are as delicious as they are festive. (unlike my taco photo, which will feature… an empty plate and zero regrets).
If you’re in Honolulu and craving flavor with flair, Aloha Mamacita is the move. I’ll be back soon… next time with photo evidence before the tacos disappear.

Wait was long, and food was not worth the wait. The “4” summer rolls? More like 2 cut in half for $14! Honestly, this shouldn’t cost more than $9. I also find it interesting when a restaurant serves multiple cultures’ cuisine. I’d like to find out if Aloha Mamacita is best at Spanish, Thai, or Vietnamese food.

My husband and I have been so eager to check out Aloha Mamacita, especially after hearing glowing recommendations from friends and seeing such great reviews online. Unfortunately, our recent experience was pretty disappointing.
We came in for an early dinner last Saturday, arriving just before 5:00 PM. We understand that timing can sometimes be tricky before the dinner rush but we weren’t acknowledged for about 10 minutes after entering. When we were finally greeted, the interaction felt extremely short and unwelcoming and we were left feeling more like a nuisance than valued guests.
We were seated at the table closest to the kitchen and unfortunately there was water leaking from the ceiling directly onto my husband’s head during our meal. It appeared to be coming from a tile placed overhead and the water was not clean.
Our food came out quickly and while the flavors were decent, it was not freshly hot. Aside from my husband’s pho, my meal in particular (Korean chicken tacos, birria bomb bites) appeared to have been reheated rather than freshly prepared. Throughout dinner, maintenance workers were going in and out of the kitchen area and working on TVs in the main dining space, which added to the overall uncomfortable atmosphere. Additionally, the person that originally seated us (separate from our waiter) was behind the bar on their phone the whole time we were visiting.
We truly love the concept and idea behind your restaurant, which is why this experience was so disappointing. We understand that everyone can have an off day but this felt like an accumulation of several issues rather than a one-off moment. Despite our experience, we still tipped because we value the service industry and the work that goes into it. Im sharing this feedback in hopes that it’s helpful. We genuinely wanted to love our visit and would appreciate any follow-up you feel is appropriate.

They’re just beginning to start their full restaurant service, so they’re adding on to their menu and also alcohol menu soon! Food was amazing. The portions are not huge but the quality is awesome and enough for bf and I to be full but not much extra leftover to take home for second meal. We’re excited to try the rest of the menu. But so far in two separate occasions, their Mexican and Thai foods are both great!!

Had high hopes for this place. Calamari’s breading is not seasoned at all. Thai chicken came cold and uncooked in the middle and did not look appetizing when it arrived. One half of the Birria crunch wrap was great the other half not so good. Bread pudding was delicious. Had to ask for napkins, straws, and waitress was very rude after having to fix the chicken issue. She even posed as the manager when someone else already mentioned the manager was a male named Kevin. Waitress are all over the place and not attentive at all. I wondered if they are short staffed which is okay, that happens. However that should be communicated. The atmosphere is cute but birds and flies around the table the entire meal and we were sitting inside. I did speak up and head of service Shelby she said her name did fix the issue with a refund. She also mentioned it was her first day and that’s why she was there, to train staff to improve. We do appreciate her help. Will not be returning.

So many mouthwatering options, it was like a flavor fiesta! The vibe leans into a lively mix of Mexican, Spanish, and Latin fusion, basically, your taste buds go on vacation without needing a passport.
Every dish we tried was a hit, satisfying, and full of personality. The dining area had that perfect balance of fun and cozy, like a spot you could bring a date or your foodie besties.
Service? On point. Friendly, fast, and they somehow knew exactly when we were ready to order or needed another round of something delicious.
And let’s talk desserts, our non-negotiable finale. The banana pudding is smooth, creamy comfort in a cup, and the ube pudding? A purple dream that tastes like sunshine and good decisions. We never leave without them, and honestly, we probably never will.
