We stepped in for a late afternoon snack, and this turned out to be an ideal spot to get away from the crazy foot traffic of Waikiki. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa; while the salsa was exceptional, the chips were unfortunately stale. Thankfully, the rest of the food completely made up for it. The Asian style taquitos appetizer was delicious, and we deeply enjoyed the Beer battered Mahi Mahi fish tacos. The Tequila Garlic Shrimp tacos were also a delight. Our server was wonderful, though he didn’t know the happy hour specials offhand and had to retrieve a handout for us. Overall, a great experience.

I really liked this place. I went twice during my last visit. The staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. Their chips and variety of salsas were fresh and really good. Their tacos were really good, and their brunch Loco Moco was a good change from the other places I had been eating. It was easy to access from the Courtyard Marriott I was staying at as well which made it really convenient.

Aloha Amigo in Waikiki has fun vibes, freaking great salsa, but mediocre food and super slow service…..

The location is awesome in Waikiki and the vibes are truly immaculate! I loved the atmosphere and the interior was truly like entering a different city!

The food was mediocre, but their salsa was DELICIOUS! It was some of the best salsa I had on island. I ordered the Tequila Garlic Butter Shrimp Tacos and Sweet Corn Salsa. The Tacos had awesome handmade tortillas, but the filling was missing some type of texture. It was quite mushy and the sauces were extremely thick, but I appreciated the mango salsa on top. The Sweet Corn Salsa was a very thick cheese with barely any corn… unfortunately, I regretted ordering it.

The service was kinda sad. As I was a server, I can understand how tiring it can be. However, as a costumer, I do not want to have to ask you after 10 minutes of being seated to bring water. And then have to ask for silverware 10 minutes after my food came out. The host did most of the work. The host was awesome, she seated us and even got our orders. It was 9:45 and the restaurant closes at 11, so I try to have grace… but it wasn’t fair to not be greeted and waiting for 10 minutes, then to basically ask for the basics (water and silverware).

I will give this place a try again, but I need to order completely different things

It was Valentines and we had a reservation at 7 PM.
we had checked out of our hotel and had all of our luggage. The staff was very accommodating and helpful in getting us a table while stashing our bags while we ate. The food was delish and we had a great dinner!! Thank you

Terrible food and incredibly loud music! They feature Hawaiian or Mexican fusion that has gone terribly wrong. They need to focus on doing ONE type of food really well because this was just awful. They could be doing so much better if they just focused on Mexican because there isn’t much for good Mexican food in Waikiki.
I should have known how the food would be when i received a canned soda. The refried beans had an awful flavor, possibly canned, and my Birra was loaded with so much black pepper it was inedible. The Carnitas were made from boiled and shredded meat instead of nicely seared meat. Not in the least worth the $50 we paid. LA Piña Cantina in the International Marketplace Mall food court had carnitas and fish tacos that were 100 times better!

Updated to note that i appreciate their response to my review. However if you scroll through the reviews, they have been saying pretty much the same thing for the past year. That they are speaking to staff, reviewing the menu, and basically thinking about improvements without actually implementing them.
Save your money and go elsewhere.

I ordered the chilequiles with rice and beans. It was amazing and way too much for me to finish haha. I took the rest to go. Had a great first impression of the place! Highly recommend.

Tried the molcajete with shrimp, beef, and chicken at Alpha Amigo—absolutely delicious and fun to share. Medium heat, bold flavors, and a great twist on traditional dishes. Our server Liz was fantastic: knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure it was the right pick for us. Highly recommend!

I love the location and atmosphere of Aloha Amigo, but the food was disappointing. I ordered fish tacos, while our daughter had meat tacos. The chips were good, but the salsa was lacking. However, the Hawaiian salsa was excellent and made the tacos more enjoyable for me. The mocktail I ordered was also good, and the prices were reasonable. The staff was friendly. If you’re looking for a great atmosphere to relax and drink, Aloha Amigo is the place to go.
