Adorable little coffee & bakeshop across the street from the entrance of the Fountain of Youth! Their drip was good and I had a pumpkin chai bun to go with it. I love that they sweeten their baked with less refined, natural sweeteners. Sometimes baked goods can get a little “too sweet” so this was just the perfect amount of sweetness to let the spices and other flavors shine through. Great place to get some work done, too!

Just a super lovely little gem. Gluten and dairy free for the win!!! The bagel was legit amazing – worth the two hour drive to go back.

The best pumpkin spice latte I’ve ever had — you could actually taste the pumpkin puree and spices! The veggie galette was so delicious as well. Can’t wait to come back when we roll through St Aug again!

My daughter is gluten free and when planning our trip to St Augustine, I googled GF bakeries and the photos showed this magical plethora of delectable pastries. We set it on our driving path, eager to buy samples and return for faves.
Upon entering the store there was strange smell. Something similar to when you walk into a not recently cleaned elderly home/health food store whose supplements contribute to a medicinal smell. NOT the smell for a bakery. We walked toward the display of baked goods to find a shortage of choices that did not resemble the promised photos on the website. These baked goods looked like failed first time attempts at baking.
Disheartened but keeping an open mind, we selected a nutter butter and a mint ice cream sandwich.
My daughter put the nutter butter in her mouth, started to chew, and her face turned to an – oh my goodness I have to spit this out – reaction.
Next up, the ice cream sandwich. The reason we ventured here. The picture that said a thousand words, this sandwich did not look like the picture. I was skeptical. The mint color looked pale – I took a bite. I chewed and the flavor of the cookie was awful. I had to spit it out.
We really went with grand hopes of a website promise and left feeling like we wasted our money and needing to cleanse our pallets.
The world for GF people is an oyster full of delicacies where you don’t need to feel trapped in the GF cage. Alms Fare puts you back in that cage. That cage that reminds you that each bite you take you take as a second class citizen. GF can be glorious. Don’t keep the myth alive with this subpar bakery.

So it hurts me to write this but the food taste was extremely disappointing. I spent over $200 for an order for my birthday of chocolate chip cookies, cookie cake , pies , ice cream sandwiches etc . The best way I could describe it is bland and unsweetened tasting . My two toddlers wouldn’t eat it after trying everything so that’s saying something. Presentation is 5 stars , packaging 5 stars , online ordering 5 stars but food taste is astonishingly terrible for a bakery business. I wish I hadn’t blindingly trusted everything would taste good from the previous reviews before wasting all my money and not having a good birthday cake .

I will start out by saying I don’t normally do reviews. But I have to say this is the BEST gluten free spot I’ve found in st. Augustine. It’s a cute little cafe and fairly quiet. The service is amazing and the food is even better! Plus the prices aren’t bad at all! They’re so nice and I will say normally gluten free food especially bread products are naturally dry to some degree. I was so shocked to find it wasn’t dry!! I had the cinnamon bun and the lemon cake and I loved both! I will be telling everyone I know about this place and how amazing this place is. It’s a diamond in the rough when it comes to gluten free friendly spots.

Highly recommend! I have been gluten free for 10+ years and this is by far the BEST gf bakery I’ve been to – excellent coffee too! (Photo includes Raspberry-Vanilla Cupcake, Nutter Butter PB Sandwich Cookie, Americano, and Orange-Vanilla Cookie)

As someone with Celiac Disease, it is so wonderful to be able to walk in to a bakery and know that I can eat anything and everything — Alms & Fare allows me to do just that. Not only do they provide an amazing variety of Celiac-safe options, everything is absolutely delicious! The bagels are huge, soft and chewy…just perfect! The selection of sweet treats is amazing and one is better than the next. Fabulous!!

Alms + Fare is hands down the best bakery in NE Florida. They serve all kinds of healthy, low sugar sweets like cookies, cakes, pastries and cinnamon rolls. They have an amazing selection. There are refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls, homemade Twix bars and similar items. They have found a way to make the tastiest desserts while at the same time not sacrificing quality and making it healthy all at the same time.

Their coffee here is fantastic. The vanilla cappuccino is perfection. Same with the lavender honey latte.

We have been coming here since they opened and were in another location. We know the owner and she even has our professional photographer in the shop. This is a great local business everyone needs to support.

Pro Tip: They have BOGO pastries on Saturdays from 4-5pm!
