Incredible food and perfect atmosphere for a date night in Oakland. Loved the wood fire grilling food and the meals were amazing. Had a burger and a steak, both were excellent

Everything I had was high quality and not overpowering flavor. I was wearing a Grizzly Man T-shirt and the bartender recognized it, meaning that the staff here must have top quality film taste. A unique prosciutto and broccoli Benedict, and Shrimp + Grits made for a great brunch with some corn bread.

Fantastic brunch spot for Sunday afternoons. Greta atmosphere and service. Very down home and earthy. Well designed too with a menu to match. Not pictured were the beignets which my neighbor friend at the bar just gave me a piece of, freaking fantastic.

Whenever I want a solid meal with fresh quality ingredients, I come here. I usually do their brunch but I tried their dinner menu last night and was thoroughly impressed. We got the squash soup, Caesar salad, gnocchi, branzino, and mashed potatoes. Literally everything was delicious. These folks know how to cook! Also can’t forgot the fudge sundae for dessert which really hit the spot.

Usually I feel underwhelmed and like I overpaid when we eat out but last night we left and thought, damn that was a good meal and very reasonably priced considering the quality of food. Ambiance is also very cozy with the brick, wood, and low light. Love their seasonal menu!

✨First time at Almond & Oak and already planning my return! ✨ Ask for Yanni

The food was incredible, but what truly elevated the experience was the outstanding service from Yanni.

Yanni was warm, friendly, and completely attuned to our needs throughout the meal. Our glasses were never empty, plates were cleared seamlessly, and he had a deep knowledge of the menu that made choosing dishes and drinks feel effortless. He recommended a drink called tepache, which I had never tried before—and I absolutely loved it!

It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and genuinely warm and welcoming. Yanni struck that perfect balance and made our first visit truly memorable.

10/10 for food, service, and vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

It’s a full bar and restaurant with serving brunch too. Has indoor and limited outdoor seatings. Inside is well decorated and clean. Tables are large and overall roomy place.
Waiters are responsive and polite.
Great for group, events, meetup, kids and accessible. Prices are reasonable wrt food quality. Will come back again.

The restaurant’s interior is simply beautifully designed — the brick wall, the hanging lights, the clear open windows onto the main street, the wooden supports, and the bars oddly mesh well together. The ambiance is top-notch. Food-wise, my favorites were the pork chop main as well as the crab cakes. Overall, a lovely spot! Would recommend for groups of 2-4 ideally.

Came here for dinner as a high recommendation from a friend, but my experience here fell short. The fritto misto was bland, and to me was just basic fried vegetables with no flavor. Thankfully, the potato gnocchi was packed with flavor, definitely a small highlight. After a 45-minute wait, the main dishes (chickpea ragu and chicken breast Panzanella) were underwhelming and not worth the delay. With timing issues and inconsistent flavors, we skipped dessert, anticipating more of the same. Overall, a mixed and mildly disappointing experience.

Absolutely phenomenal brunch. My fiance and I split the steak sandwich and the eggs Benedict today. We loved each dish equally and were very impressed with the food after deciding to go here on a whim. We will totally be going back!

Great food and atmosphere, I also really appreciated the person in the front who got us a fantastic table, they were super friendly and overall great customer service. I ordered the baked french toast and omg.. it was delightful.
My only problem w/ this place is the servers, I totally can feel their frustration and overall dissatisfaction. However, I don’t think customers should deal with that. Our server was trying her best to not breakdown tbh, I felt her agitation every time we requested something like “salt&pepper, sugar, catchup.. etc”. We had to wave multiple times to different servers to get our coffee refills. I can tell she felt overwhelmed.. I feel for everyone in the services industry, but customers do spend their hard earned money to enjoy themselves and deserve to be treated well. Can’t tell you how much this impacted our overall mood.
