We decided to try Almighty Pit BBQ after the kids track practice and I’m so glad we did. Our server was very sweet and attentive. She anticipated all of our needs before we had to ask for anything. The owner Stanley came out to greet us and welcomed us as if we were personal guests in his home. He told us a little about himself and let us sample his amazing sauces. They were all delicious, but I really liked the blueberry BBQ sauce. All of our food was delicious! The food came out hot and the portions were very nice. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We ordered some of his homemade ice cream to go. It was the perfect treat to top of a delicious meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the ice cream. It rivals some name brands in stores and store fronts. We will definitely be coming back for good BBQ and to try out the brunch menu.
I just stopped by The Almighty Pit, and wow…the food is absolute perfection.
The brisket melts in your mouth, the chicken is fall-off-the-bone tender, and the ribs are perfectly seasoned and juicy. Even better, all of their rubs and sauces are made in-house!
Don’t walk—RUN—and tell them your neighbor sent you!

The Ultimate Reward After a 36-Hour Cross-Country Drive
If you’re looking for BBQ that feels like a warm hug from Grandma, look no further. After driving 36 hours from San Diego, my family of five was exhausted and starving. The photos online drew us in, but the experience itself blew us away.
The Service
Traveling with a tired, indecisive family of five can be a challenge, but the staff here treated us like kin. They were incredibly patient, answering every question and offering perfect recommendations to help us navigate the menu. You can feel the “labor of love” in every interaction.
The Appetizers (The Showstoppers)
* Collard Gumbo: Don’t let the lack of meat fool you; you won’t miss it. The broth is so flavor-packed and perfectly seasoned that I found myself drinking it straight from the bowl.
* Fried Green Tomatoes: Absolute perfection. The batter is crispy and seasoned to make your mouth water, protecting a perfectly ripe tomato inside. I managed to snag one before my wife claimed the rest!
* Southern Fried Okra: These are addictive, bite-sized bursts of flavor.
Seafood & The Main Event
The Crispy Jumbo Shrimp and Catfish were seasoned so well that I didn’t even reach for the hot sauce. But the smoked meats are the true stars:
* The Brisket: Easily in my Top 3 ever. It arrives dripping with rendered juices, featuring a perfectly seasoned fat cap. It’s a masterpiece with or without sauce.
* St. Louis Ribs: These are often sold out for a reason. They are tender and smoky, but when you pair them with their homemade Blueberry and Cherry BBQ sauces, they go to another level.
* Short Ribs: I ordered a bunch, but my kids polished them off before I could even get a bite—which is the highest praise a parent can give!
The Sweet Finish
We finished with handmade gourmet ice cream by Cobachi C.R.E.A.M. My wife got “The Minaj”—a fresh strawberry ice cream topped with graham cracker dust. I don’t usually go for sweets, but this put the classic strawberry shortcake bars to absolute shame.
Final Verdict
No corners are cut here. From the first bite of okra to the last scoop of ice cream, the food is designed to make your mouth sing. You’ll leave happy, full, and feeling like you just finished Sunday dinner at Grandma’s. Do not pass this place up!
