I had a really great time at Alma Mexicana. We stopped by for their Alma Date Night Special which happens every Wednesday from 11am to 9pm. The space is nice with plenty of seating and a outdoor area that I’m sure is great when the weather is nice. The service was great as well. Our server made sure we had everything we needed and was very helpful with the menu.
For $35 dollars the date night deal includes choriqueso, six street tacos of our choice, churritos and our choice of a bottle of wine or a margerita pitcher! You really can’t beat that anywhere.
The choriqueso was rally good and tasty. I had the guajillo chicken, fried chicken and the shrimp tacos. I absolutely loved the guajillo chick and shrimp taco and would definitely order them again. The churritos were also tasty but I couldn’t eat a ton because I was full from all the other food.
The food was plentiful and all for an amazing price. I honestly don’t know why folks aren’t here every single Wednesday. A wonderful deal with good food and drinks equal a good time. If you’re looking for a great midweek date night for a good price that has good food you should definitely give Alma Mexicana a shot.

This was my second time here (the first time I only came for drinks). It is definitely one of the best in Winston. My daughters (9 and 7) loved the kids nachos; one of them ate all of it. The portions are more like an adult size, which they appreciate! My husband got the fried chicken ACP and devoured it. I got the shrimp tacos, and they were amazing. My love for eating out has gone down over the last few years, because I can cook well myself. However, this hit the mark! Great food and atmosphere!

I didn’t know what to really expect but I must say that everything was very good! The food, drinks, customer service and atmosphere was outstanding! I will be back for sure. I really enjoyed my flight of margaritas .i like the fact that it’s downtown and convenient to Bailey park.

Thinking about stopping by? You could and you should do just that. This spot has a cool, laid-back vibe right in the heart of downtown Innovation Quarter. Enjoy a great meal while taking in the awesome views of the beautiful Bailey Park. The service is excellent A+ with kind helpful and welcoming staff including the awesome Manager Jay. I came for lunch and stepped outside my usual Coke for a Spicy Mango Ginger mocktail, Whew it was spicy too & super refreshing. I ordered the Cha Cha Quesadilla (with crispy fried chicken and lots of yummy melted cheese) it was delicious and filling. Now the bonus was the Texas Pete hot honey drizzle, it took it over the top and gave it that sweet heat. To top off it I enjoyed some of their delicious churros with warm gooey caramel sauce…Deliciouso. Alma Mexicana is locally owned, has great food, great service, great drinks with great scenery so it is definitely worth the visit. So go out and support.

Went here with my boyfriend and his family! I am visiting from Denver, where tacos are a huge deal.
Firstly, the service was great. Our server was accommodating and very kind. She recommended the Blood Orange margarita…best margarita I’ve had in a while.
I ordered the Yucatán shrimp tacos…so freaking delicious! Well cooked as well.
The atmosphere was chill, and the tables were clean. I highly recommend this place.

Vibrant space, delicious food, friendly service & salsa dancing too.
We went on a Monday night to learn to Salsa dance. And it was fun learning new moves. And the one hour lesson is free for all, then 2 more hours of music and dancing.
However, we went early, sat outside, enjoyed THE THREE AMIGOS – chips with 3 dips – guacamole, salsa & quest. Had to refill water glasses to before our many course. The heat from the salsa was mild, but the heat from the day continued. Great tastes rolled through my mouth and over my buds.
Seating inside & out ADA compatible, and full bar with 10 craft beers on tap.

While we did have to wait awhile to get our food, the dishes themselves were delicious! They all have great flavors, are interesting and creative renditions of traditional fare, and showcase really nice use of many varieties of peppers. The mixed drinks were also tasty. We had a very enjoyable experience.

The food was just as impressive. I had a delicious bowl full of flavor, topped off with some Valentina hot sauce for the perfect kick. Fresh ingredients, bold seasoning, and generous portions made it a standout meal.
The staff was super friendly and made the experience even better. The whole place had a great vibe — perfect for catching up with friends or just treating yourself to a solid night out.
Definitely planning to come back soon. Alma is a gem in Winston-Salem!

We randomly found Alma Mexicana and it did not disappoint. The Guacamole was excellent, the Chicken Flautas was superior, and my daughter had the chicken street tacos. Everything was excellent and the service was great too! Definitely 5 STARS!!
