This morning I googled for a good breakfast near me, and up came Ally’s Comfort Cafe.
When I checked, Google says, “a comfy, cosy diner that offers tasty, southern-inspired food, at decent prices. Great customer service.” 4.8-5. They spoke no lies here, Ally’s is located in #ShenandoahSquare, near the intersection of I-595 and I-75, very close to where I stayed. It’s small, not fancy, but the food and service speak for themselves. Their breakfast menu is far from an IHOP or Denny’s; it features real food, and in large portions. I finally got to enjoy Grits(yes, it’s the only porridge I deal with), made with dried, ground corn that’s so delicious, especially when paired with good butter, a little salt, and black pepper. Lawd, it’s nice! We all had omelettes(33 eggs, real eggs too), and he girls chose potatoes. My omelette has all the meat, .
The ambience of this diner is charming and laid-back, and with decor that includes art and photos of inspiring and humorous quotes. The staff are attentive, always checking on you. I must return to check out their lunch/brunch menu. I’m seeing a pork chop with mash and brisket, that’s on the menu….it’s calling my name.

Ally’s cafe is always a delight to visit. It has great food and great service…usually. Our first food item didn’t arrive until an hour after we arrived. All of our items weren’t ready until an hour and 30 minutes later. My partner got his food earlier than me and waited until mine was ready, about 30 minutes later. The special was amazing, it was banana, pecan, and caramel French toast. The waitress was lovely and she made sure to check on us. I’m not sure what the issues were this day, but service is usually not like this. Very disappointed, I won’t be returning until these issues get resolved.

We have vacationed in Weston the last few winters. When we stayed at Vacation Village they gave us a discount card for local restaurants and Ally’s was on the list. We look forward to eating here every year.
It was not pool weather today, so we skipped Zumba water aerobics and carbed out at Ally’s. When you walk through the door you are greeted immediately and seated quickly. Shannon was our server. She has been a server there for 11 and a half year. I had homemade corned beef hash with two eggs, homefries? and two pieces of toast.
Ally’s prides itself on fast service and the food came out quickly and everything was hot and plentiful. My partner had a lox platter and it came with four slices of smoked salmon, a fresh hot bagel, cream cheese, lettuce, sliced onions, sliced tomatoes and capers.
I immediately asked for a to go container and saved some of mine for tomorrow. We have eaten here for lunch and that was delicious two. I had a large tomato juice and my partner had coffee. With the discount we had a memorable meal for under $40. We are staying for two weeks this year, maybe we’ll be back!

Finally found my new go-to breakfast spot in West Davie! This place is everything you want in a comfort food diner. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel right at home. The prices are incredible for the quality you get. The star of the show for me was the corned beef hash-it’s clearly made in-house and was the best l’ve had in years. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu!

I can’t say more about how I like this place. I don’t normally give five stars. The only thing bad I can say is that they’re too quick.
The food was excellent and the prices are great. The only thing I didn’t like was the eggs were cooked on high heat, so they were a little brown on the edges. But they were fresh eggs, a nice big golden yolk. I’m from New England and have not had such a good egg in years. The waitress had an earpiece and the kitchen could hear everything she was saying. So as she was ordering they were making our breakfast.
They had plenty of stuff. We never had to wait for coffee or them to clear our plates or anything.
It’s a little far from my neighborhood but we will definitely be regulars.
And I have to say the management is amazing. The people when they have nothing to do. Were cleaning and working. If every place had more managers out there like this, It would be a lot more enjoyable to go out.

We went here on a Saturday after a quick trip to Ikea (yes I actually said ‘quick’). There were a bunch of people outside but we were seated in under 20 minutes. I ordered the tuna salad on toasted rye and my husband got two over easy eggs, bacon, and pancakes. He also ordered a coffee, which came out steaming hot. The wait for the food was a bit long, but that was because it was an extremely crowded restaurant, so I totally understand and it was definitely worth the wait. The food was hot delicious and filling. The portion sizes are large and did not disappoint. The tuna salad sandwich was just amazing. It reminded me of old time deli sandwiches that I used to have and the pickle was crunchy kosher and the homemade coleslaw was a delight. My husband says the eggs were wonderful. The bacon was delicious and the pancakes were huge, like literally the size of my head. I tried the pancakes with syrup and they were fluffy and so tasty.
We had plenty of leftovers to bring home. I definitely recommend this place and will be back again.

Nice restaurant for family. The menu is expansive; staff were courteous but very busy on a Saturday morning. They do not take reservations. As a party of 9 with several children, we waited about 20 min – a reasonable amount of time. Everything was good except for the coffee! (That could be a problem for some). Portions were generous. The servers were agreeable to modified orders and special requests. Don’t hesitate to ask. I would not hesitate to go here again.

I have been going to Ally’s for four years now. I absolutely loved it and would go all of the time to get blueberry pancakes. I haven’t been for a couple of months, and I went back this last week. I was disappointed for the very first time! I don’t know why they tasted differently, but they were no longer fluffy and delicious. You could get this pancake anywhere. It absolutely broke my heart. If the restaurant is reading this, please go back to the old recipe… It was so much better!
I originally posted three stars for a rating because of what I typed above however they have changed their pancakes back to what they were. I went back today to have my blueberry pancakes and I was so happy that they’ve gone back to what they were. Thank you so much for listening to me and changing back to the old recipe.
