From the moment we pulled up to the valet, the experience was first-class. The staff inside the restaurant were warm, attentive, and made the entire visit feel special. The seafood was absolutely wonderful—fresh, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. The meatball appetizer was excellent, and the wedge salad was crisp, refreshing, and done exactly right. Overall, an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. We always love to find where Chef James Hale is working and frequent his restaurants because he never disappoints. Highly recommend.

I am blown away by this place. The goat cheese mousse appetizer was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. It was a blend of goat cheese and cream cheese and had pesto, roasted garlic, and roasted tomatoes on top and served with perfectly buttered grilled crostini. My partner got the short rib meatballs starter and they were phenomenal as well.
My entree pictured is a pork shank with jus over a bed of cheese grits served with buttered broccolini. It was a very generous portion and it was AMAZING.
My partner had a shrimp pasta with a gargonzola cream for his entree that was also delicious. Very light but flavorful.
Our server, Alecia, was very accommodating and pleasant.

Made a reservation to celebrate a night out with friends; first we ordered some appetizers – my favorite was the Goat Cheese Mousse, so good (it was half gone before I could snap a photo!) My Lobster Crab Mac was beautiful and very tasty; huge portion!! Was told the 8 oz filet was to die for (will order that next time!) I tried the savory Mushroom Bread Pudding, it was wonderful, as well! Our server, Heather, was so attentive and anticipated all our needs. Will definitely be back with family. Oh, and the young men handling the valet were amazing!

We moved here recently and Allsopp & Chappell was our first choice for a casual but high end dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We were very happy with our choice. Let’s start with the service…impeccable. Our server Matt has worked in Manhattan so his personality, attention to detail, knowledge of the menu, including specialty cocktails and wines, was well-oiled.and amazing. He answered all of our questions with confidence. I ordered an unusual Old Fashioned called “Much Ado About Nothing” but it definitely was more than “nothing”. Rye whiskey infused with oranges made it one of the most interesting OFs I’ve ever had. My husband had an Italian wine which was suggested by Matt. One of two specials were the elk chops served with gnocchi and garlic broccolini all with the most rich and luscious glaze. My blackened redfish, cheese grits (on the dry side but I prefer my grits more like mashed potatoes) and shrimp in a pontchartrain sauce with sweet potatoes was absolutely perfect. And the finale was a large piece of warm blueberry bread pudding and vanilla sauce with peaches and cream ice cream (complimentary for our special day). The manager stopped by, and the ancillary wait staff were all attentive and sweet. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience in a quiet, quaint atmosphere. We’ll be returning soon. Thanks to this lovely spot on Main for making our 49th anniversary very special.

8/2025 Update – Thanks for staying open on a Sunday – hope Allsopp will have enough sales to keep this schedule. Bar area seems empty – while the tables are nearly full…. Street parking is free after 6:00, although it’s difficult to find street parking at times. Food was good. Overall experience was good and added a star to the review. {previous update}Allsopp & Chaapple Restaurant probably deserves a 5 star, but few small gripes bought this review down to a 4 star. There is plenty of paid parking across the street in a multi-level parking garage ($4 for a couple of hours)*Nov 2023. Food was outstanding, the kitchen team knows what they are doing- compared to similar restaurants, I felt the prices are a bit high. Service was meh..for a high caliber restaurant, the service should be outstanding. Atmosphere-on a cold rainy night there is a rush of cold air when people open the front door- which is fully exposed to restaurant dining area; when a large party arrives, it will definitely chill your drinks & meals. Definitely will be back on a warm day.

I went here on a date night and I gotta say this spot was amazing! We started off with Mac n Cheese which blew us away! Easily the best Mac n cheese I’ve had at a restaurant. Then we had our entrees, which lived up to the expectations! Our server Alicea was very accommodating, she even had a non alcoholic drink made specifically for me. She was super friendly, and attentive. Also shout out to the bartender he stopped by our table, and told us about the drinks he made us. The vibe of the restaurant was very chill and movie like. It was raining that night and the restaurant wasn’t packed, so the whole night was very demure. I would highly recommend this restaurant, one of my favorite on my visit to Little Rock! Also that bread pudding mix with peanut butter and chocolate was heavenly!!

Hubby and I had a quick pre-show appetizer, dessert and drinks the other evening and everything was fantastic. The cocktail menu is phenomenal and everything we tried I would get again. The Old World Ricotta Cheesecake was so good, we were both quite impressed. It was a laid back atmosphere and service was great.
