Talked a buddy into lunch today and he suggested Alley’s. I have been trying to go by there but kept forgetting when they were open however this day it was good. I had heard good things from some friends so I was excited to try it out.
Had to go with the brisket and sides of collard greens and dirty rice! Brisket was moist and tender, very good and not the least bit dry. First bite was without sauce and honestly I could have just ate it like that! They have 3 sauces, a sweet, vinegar and mustard. All were very good, the vinegar sauce was a good mix and not too watery! The mustard was tangy and very good as well. For sides I got the collards which were VERY good. Well seasoned and definitely a check for a repeat side and the dirty rice was made with the brisket so it had a really good smoked flavor that was a nice addition.
The owner and helper were a pleasure to talk to, their service was personal and speedy. Plans are for them to go into the old Wishbone location so that will be a great addition to the downtown restaurants.
Their facebook page keeps the up to date information and specials that they are having.
If you are in the area, stop by and give them a try, I am sure you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent barbecue, especially the brisket. Sides are proper and portions are perfect. Mac n cheese is awesome!!! Highly recommend and can’t wait for brick and mortar which is in the works. Today just had 1/2 lb of fatty part of brisket and oh so good!!!

Oh boy, best brisket ever. Pulled pork clean tasting and smoky. Teen boy loved all, especially mac & cheese. Wifey thought collards a tad on the sweet side, but she’d still order again. She thought mustard sauce excellent, and the rest of us loved the sweet bbq sauce. Plan on making it a regular.

Excellent BBQ!!! My wife brought me home some from her work catering event, and it was all absolutely delicious! Sides, sauces, brisket, and the pork was the best I have ever eaten! Can’t wait for them to open!
