Started off with a bowl of shrimp and corn chowder. Really good. Then had their deviled eggs, which are topped with crab. Unique twist, very good. Dinners was the stuffed flounder with crab and risotto/lobster. Large servings, left full. Great wait staff, happy and wishes to enjoy you enjoying your meal.

We made a detour during a recent road trip based on some great reviews we read online. We were really looking forward to trying their fried clams, which we were surprised to find were just $6 on their happy hour menu. However, the clams were over cooked and lacked flavor. We also tried the clam chowder which was much thicker than we personally like.
We also had an odd experience with the wait staff. There were customers at only two other tables besides ours, yet everytime the waitress came to our table, she acted rushed and seemed annoyed to answer our questions about the menu. When we were settling our bill and leaving, she seemed friendlier but throughout the rest of our time in the restaurant, we felt like an imposition.

Very nice seafood spot along route nine in New Gretna, heard lots of rave reviews and we gave it a try. Service was great, nice atmosphere, busy and a bit loud, definitely popular with the local crowd. Nice bar and array of beers and cocktails. I started with their signature New England clam chowder, a bit heavy on the potatoes and a little light on the clams but definitely tasty, fried calamare was nicely done but the coconut shrimp were small and ordinary. I had an order of fried clam strips which were about the best that I have had in South Jersey, very crispy, lightly battered and perfectly fried. It was served with a good cole slaw and some nice French Fries. Would love to come back on a cooler day for some of their nice looking oysters and clams.

Absolutely amazing new look and bar! The food and drinks were excellent, the staff was fantastic, and everything we tried was spot on. The crab dip is incredibly cheesy, the white clam chowder is true comfort food, and the fried clam strips are fresh, light, and perfectly done. For the main course, we had the Lobster Pot Pie and the Seafood Sofrito—and all I have to say is WOW! Can’t wait to come back to Allen’s Clam Bar!

When you’re in the mood for seafood, this is absolutely the best place to go with in a 40 mile radius. The lobster was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and an enormous portion. My son fell in love with the seafood, mac and cheese. It was a really large amount. He was able to eat half and take half home and have it again the next night. I also highly recommend the bang bang shrimp. It’s something I order every time I go.

My new favorite restaurant in all of South Jersey! Food was 10/10 I had the Clam Francaise with the clam chowder soup and it was delicious! Drinks were also great and service was amazing. We had our two kids with us and they enjoyed the food as well. Absolutely amazing. Highly recommend.

I have been going to Allen’s for over 25 years now and they never disappoint!! Was so happy with our server and so glad they brought back the deviled clams! We drove almost an hour to get there and it’s worth the trip. Get yourself a love potion cocktail it was delicious.
