As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome. The establishment features a gorgeous, elegant bar and beautiful Edison bulb string lights throughout. We visited the week before Valentine’s Day, and the holiday decorations were a lovely touch.
Our waitress was new, but she was clearly well-trained and brought excellent experience to the table. While the menu is small, it offers plenty of high-quality farm-to-table options. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which had a perfect balance of sweet and salty—highly recommended! I didn’t see them on the menu, but I asked for Brussels sprouts; they were incredibly savory and should definitely be a menu staple.
We also loved the unique touch of having different designs and shapes for all the plates. We finished dinner with the waitress-recommended chocolate cake, and she was absolutely right—it was amazing!

First time in and we had lunch. Loved the exposed brick walls and skylight and atmosphere. We had a variety of sandwiches and enjoyed them all (tuna melt, reuben, and yum yum chicken). Truffle fries and house fries were also great! Drinks were excellent as well! Waitress was very sweet and attentive. We would definitely go back!

I can not tell you enough of how amazing their food is. I’m up here for a week or 2 annually from Florida. I am so glad I chose this restaurant as my last dinner before I go back home tomorrow. I love that it’s fresh, farm to table, and the food is absolutely amazing. If you want really good, fresh food and a very nice atmosphere. I highly recommend allegory in Naperville. Excellent food, service, and all around great service. We arrived almost 45 minutes early to our reservation time and they were able to seat our party of 5 when we arrived. Super nice staff.

Wow. We came on a Saturday night, beautiful ambiance, suggest to get a reservation. We had the new beef brisket taco that has now taken the place of the Al Pastor one. That cilantro lime rice?????? WOW. The tacos were so flavorful, such a good time, I absolutely cannot wait to go back. I might just eat one plate and take another home.

Tonight, my bf and I took my Mom and Dad out to eat – my mom has severe allergies (dairy, wheat, pea, and beef). They didn’t have an allergy menu with detailed descriptions of allergens, BUT our server, Madeleine, was amazing. She specifically wrote down her allergies and went to the chef directly to speak about what she could and couldn’t have. The chef made her something that was an amalgamation of different items on the menu that were all created in house, from all-known ingredients to avoid any kind of accidental contamination. My mom said it was DELICIOUS and she left with zero issues (which is a feat considering she keeps two epi pens with her at all times since reactions occur so often).
Allegory was amazing as per usual, but the chef and our server deserved a huge shout out for not making my mom feel like a burden while also catering to her beautifully. We will be coming back!!!

I was really excited to try Allegory after hearing so many great things and reading all the hype on the review. The place itself is very cute, and I appreciate that they use fresh ingredients straight from the farm—that’s something I always support.
I ordered the Dad Bob burger with fries. It did taste fresh and somewhat healthy, but to be honest, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The flavor wasn’t as satisfying as other burger spots I’ve tried, and the presentation was a bit messy—not really my style.
One thing I did enjoy was the cocktail I ordered—it was well made and had a great balance of flavor.
Unfortunately, what really ruined the experience for me was the service. My server was not attentive at all. I waited over fifteen minutes after I was clearly done eating, and no one came to check on me. I had to flag down another staff member just to get my check from my server, and even then, it took a while for my server to finally check on my table. I couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable, especially since I noticed the server was checking on all the other (white) customers around me but seemed to completely ignore my table. I truly hope it wasn’t racially motivated, but the difference in service was hard to ignore.
All in all, while the concept is nice and the drink was good, I personally wouldn’t return. The experience just didn’t live up to the reviews or what I had hoped for.

I’m on a short-term, super specific eating protocol per my dietician. I sent a note with my reservation with details on what my limitations are and asked if they could accommodate. I got an email back FROM THE CHEF/OWNER saying that not only could they, they’d be delighted to! When I got there, the hosts and the server (Amy) all knew about my special case, and were so kind and helpful. The food turned out to be amazing, despite my limits. Particular standouts were the still-creamy centers of the hard-boiled eggs on my salad and the cooked-to-perfection shrimp. We’ve always loved Allegory, but now we love it even more!
