We recently visited this restaurant after the train ride, and found it has new owners. It was worth a chance, so we stayed and ate. Never again. Wait staff was one person. No way she could keep up. Prices are very high for what you get. I got a salad, and it had a bowl of lettuce, 1/2 a boiled egg, 1 piece of crumbled bacon, and a little diced cheap ham. $10.50. No bread, no crutons, no tomatoes or other veggies, just lettuce, nothing more. My child’s meal arrived missing glad the meal, but instead if a reduced price for the error I got “oh well.” To make matters worse, we came home with food poisoning. Not the way we wanted to spend out 90 minute drive. The lack of receptiveness, and food safety concerns will stop us from returning. Too bad. This was once an amazing place to eat

Ate there twice now. Never again. First time was for lunch. Ordered a burger and fries. The quality of the meat, bun, tomato, lettuce, and cheese were worse quality than the ingredients I keep in my fridge at home. Fries were over cooked. Coffee was horrible. Service was nearly non existent. No one greeted us when walked in. We thought the place was closed for a few minutes. Also ended up with a nasty case of food poisoning.
Second time we went there was for Sunday breakfast, we thought we would give them a second chance. We walked in, again, no employees visible. We stood around for a while…went to use the restroom, I even walked out to my car and back in. Their door closes quite loudly, still no-one came out. We went to the payment counter, grabbed our own menus and sat down. A few minutes later a waitress came in the front door from outside. Looked really surprised and ran to get menus, then noticed we already had some, she didn’t say anything and walked in the back. We finally got asked for our order. I got the chicken fried steak, asked for extra crispy on the hashbrowns. The first thing I noticed was the hash browns weren’t even browned. When I tried to cut the chicken fried steak, I couldn’t! I grabbed my knife more firmly and pressed down harder, it literally cracked! It was like chewing beef jerky coated in Doritos. The scrambled eggs were over cooked. And the portions were quite sad. When asked why the hash browns were hardly cooked, her response was, our stove is having problems right now, it takes for ever too heat anything up. WHAT?! Why is a restaurant serving food cooked on a stove that doesn’t cook at the right temperature…I’m guessing I’ll be getting food poisoning again in the next day or two.

Have eaten here several times. The food and the customer service is great. The burgers and tots are fantastic!!! Breakfast is especially good as well. The new owners have definitely turned this place around. Great job!!

TERRIBLE Service,ordered breakfast, wait was at least 20 min,meat tasted AWEFUL,eggs we’re to be over med,they we’re almost hard,NO one checked back on us.
When we we’re all finished we waited 10 minutes for our bill no one came so…we walked up to the counter, NO waitress,waited longer,finally she noticed us and said wait a couple minutes and I will be with you.

This restaurant is now under new ownership, and for the better! They’ve got great food, wonderful service, good pricing, and an excellent staff. Definitely a key implement in the small town of Yacolt.
